"How long has she been asleep?"

"A whole day."

"Wolfsbane and nightshade is supposed to kill you. How does one person survive this?"

"I don't know. Alpha Joaquin went to France to find out who let the wolfsbane slip. The nightshade can be found almost anywhere so there's no telling where they got it."

The voices floating around me in every direction, slowly waking me up, until I was just listening to their conversation with my eyes closed.

"Is she going to wake up?"

"I'm awake. Everything just hurts." I groan, squeezing my eyelids together before opening them. "Ow!" The bright light feels like a flame near the eye, quickly shielding my eyes from the light, someone moves across the room to turn them off.

The room washes in darkness, and I slowly blink away the pain. A hand on mine, lowering my hand from my face and I see only three silhouettes in the room. The hand though didn't belong to Juni, it was bigger than his.

"Sam?"

"Are you okay? Juni told us the side effects, we should have kept the light off." He almost stammers but I wave my hand dismissively.

"You said Q went to France?" I ask Juni.

"Kendric went with them. He took it really personal when he found out about where that wine crate came from. When you blacked out, Kendric pulled rank and sent us back to campus. Sam carried you back here." Juni says and offers me a glass of water. "You need to eat something. You haven't eaten in days."

"I'm used to it." I say as I slowly sip the water.

"Unacceptable." Sam grunts. "You have something here right?"

"Left overs, soup maybe." I shrug and realize I haven't been changed and I feel the grime of the last few days on me. "You can order out or something, I feel gross." I say standing to go to the bathroom, but immediately my legs couldn't hold my weight up and I end up collapsing.

I'm quickly caught by a sturdy pair of arms before I hit the floor. Sam's arms. They pull me up gently and help me out the room to the bathroom, Juni starts to interject but he's stopped by Opala who quickly shushes him.

"I'm okay."

"Bullshit." He grunts and twists open the bathroom knob gently guiding me in and sitting me on the toilet seat. "Why can't you stand?"

"It will take some time." I say as I attempt to wiggle my toes. He watches with me as I try to move my feet, I put my weight on it to feel nothing but pins and needles. "I can shower on my own."

"I know that." He says. "But until you can stand up, there isn't much you can do."

"Are you offering to shower with me?" I joke and he looks up, eyes wide but lets out a sigh when he sees me chuckling at him.

"You're cruel." He mutters.

"No. Just trying to lighten the mood." I shrug. With a groan I stand, Sam helping me by putting my hands on his shoulders, holding me by my waist as he gently guides me up. Goosebumps erupting under his touch, but I quickly move out of his hold.

"I think I got it." I smile and he nods back before turning and leaving, closing the bathroom door behind him.

The shower was brief, I return back to my room to find clothes laid out for me. I quickly shrug everything on and walk out to my living room, seeing Juni placing take out containers out on the table.

"Sam and Opala went to their last classes for the day." Juni says. "I got beef stew and rice."

"Sounds perfect." I smile.
