***Bailey's POV***

I wake up in the guest room at the Curtis house laying peacefully in bed. I look around and see Dallas sitting with his head in his hands.

"Dally..." I say weakly.

He immediately looks up and walks over.

"Hey Baby Cade," he says, his voice cracking a little bit.

"What happened? And where is everybody?" I ask.

"Well, Andrew went back home," Dallas says. Something in my stomach turns. "Soda and Steve are at work, Two-Bit's in town somewhere, and Darry's getting groceries."

"What about Ponyboy and Johnny?" I say, scared.

"They...um...they are up on Jay Mountain," he says, scratching the back of his neck.

"Why?!" I yell.

"Shh, Shh, I need you to be quiet, not everyone knows," He whispers. "The other night, when Ponyboy came home late, Johnny and Ponyboy showed up on Buck's doorstep, holding you between them. You apparently passed out just before getting to the lot, and some Socs pinned you guys as an easy target. Anyway, they killed a Soc, and now they're in hiding. Johnny told me to take care of you and to bring you up to Jay Mountain when I go see them."

"When's that?" I ask eagerly.

"Today. But really, it's only if you're 100% up to it, I don't need you passing out on me," he says jokingly.

"No, I'll be fine. I feel like I've slept for days," I reply.

"That's because you have, Bails," he says with a laugh. "Two, to be exact."

I laugh as I get out of bed and change into my Mickey Mouse crew neck and leggings that were laying on the floor. I hurry to the bathroom to comb out my hair before meeting Dally in the car.

On the way there, I doze off. When I wake, I'm alone in the car. I see Johnny, Dally, and Ponyboy in the distance. I begin to hear their conversation as they get closer to the car.

"How's Bailey?" I hear Johnny say.

"She's bad, real bad," Dallas says. Only I could have decoded the sarcasm in his voice. Johnny nods sadly and opens the car door.

"Bailey?!"
