Chapter One: The Revival
Real World.
November 5, 2050
I just came home from school., I was greeted by my mom and sister who was just preparing dinner.
“Late.” Says my mum with her eyebrows raised.
“I overslept while reading at the library.” I replied and went to my room.
I dressed in my casual clothes and sat in front of my desk beside my blue bed. I was doing my homework thirty minutes later when the phone rang.
“Hey!” Regie greeted.
Regie is one of my Best Friends. Well, ‘Pioneer Best Friend’. He’s one of my first Best Friends at school. I don’t know how we did it but we became best friends. Maybe because we share the same interests and some of personalities. We both love reading and he influenced me into trying different VRMMORPG games. We are game enthusiasts. We finished different VRMMORPG games together. The truth is we are both beta testers of the Sword Art Online. We managed to clear 5 floors.
“Hey.” I responded.
“Let’s play tonight before it opens to all tomorrow.” He offers.
“Nah. Im going to do my homework.” I said.
“PFFFFFT. Scratch that. Im not logging in without my party member.” He says, stifling a laugh.
“So see you tomorrow then?”
“Okay.”
“Ciao.”
“Au Revoir, Gen-kun.”
I put the phone at the table and continued to do my homework. Maybe it’s a crowded place tomorrow. My classmates, 45 of them had bought the game too so I expect to see them tomorrow. My sister called me for dinner so I went down after I finished doing my homework.
“Anything Special today?” asked Mum.
“Nah. Just the usual. Anyways, it’s Friday tomorrow so I’ll be able to go to SAO with Regie.” I replied.
“SAO. Always SAO.” Muttered my sister.
“PFFFFT. You’re ancient.” I said, Laughing.
I went to my room after dinner. I sat in my bed and tried to think of things. I picked up the phone and dialed.
“Hey.” I said.
“HEY!” says Ace.
Ace is one of my Best Friends too. He is more of a happy-go-lucky type like Regie. He’ll be playing SAO too tomorrow.
“So….”
“Help Tomorrow, okay?” he asks.
“Oh sure. Basics?” I said.
“NAH. Everything you learned and everything you know. Okay?”
“Fine.” I said.
We chatted a little about school and homework. I noticed that the clock is already at 10:00. I turned the phone off and lay down on my bed.
“Nox.” I said and the lights went out.
I laid there in my bed, still thinking of what will happen tomorrow. Maybe it will be a different day since we’re playing it. Only Regie and I are the beta testers in the room so I expect everyone to be begging for tips and tricks. I closed my eyes and fell into a deep slumber.
