Chapter Seven

Heart of the Floor One Dungeon

2:30 PM

We are facing a large door with a face of a monster we don’t know. Maybe it’s the Kobold Lord.

“This is it guys.” Says Dancel.

“Remember to stay alert. We will guide you.” Says Daniel.

They both opened the doors. 50 people, including us, rushed in forward. The room suddenly lightened up. The creature was sitting in a throne across the room. His eyes suddenly lightened up in a mad color of red and jumped at the center of the room and it growled and howled.

Illfang the Kobold Lord.

“ATTACK!!!”

We rushed in. The sentinels of the Kobold Lord rushed too.

“Squad A and B! Attack the Kobold Lord! Squad C, D, and E! Hold off the sentinels!” shouts Daniel.

“Roger!” Regie and I shouted.

Regie ran forward and hacked his way to a sentinel. He delivered an uppercut to the sentinel and it exploded. I ran forward to another sentinel, parrying its attack and delivered a Sonic Leap on its head.

“Switch!”

Regie ran forward and delivered a Slant and a Vertical Arc on the sentinel. It exploded into pieces.

“Good teamwork we have here.” Says Regie and gave me a thumbs up.

“DODGE!!!!” I shouted as a blade swung.

“NOO!!!!!” shouted Joyce and parried the attack. She was tossed into the air by the weapon of Illfang.

Illfang jumped high and slashed fast on Joyce’s body.

“Joyce!” Shouted Regie and held his hand high but he can’t reach Joyce. Joyce is at the ceiling, 25 ft from the level ground.

“Don’t worry! We’ll go!” shouts Trisha as she jumped up high and slashed on the Kobold Lord.

“No!” I shouted back.

One sentinel charged toward us.

“ARRRRRRRGH!” Both Regie and I screamed. We ran forward and slashed on the sides of the sentinel.

“VERTICAL ARC! NOW!” I shouted. We performed the Vertical Arc and the sentinel exploded. I noticed that almost all of my classmates are here too.

“Hit the Stomach!” Shouted Daymar as he led a group of people to a pack of sentinels.

I hear screams and looked up. There are people at the ceiling who are fighting Illfang. Villmary, Trisha, Carla, Frizzle and Shane are there. I could see Shane and Carla deliver a Rage Spike at Illfang. Villmary and Trisha delivered Vertical Arcs at the boss. Frizzle went for a sonic leap but the blade struck her. Illfang becomes enraged and made a circle of slash on the oppressors. Like raindrops, Joyce, Trisha, Villmary, Carla, Frizzle and Shane fell at the floor with a thud. Their bodies bounced a little and then exploded into polygonal shards.

“NOOO!!!!!!” Regie Shouted as he ran forward, only to grab fragments of our classmates.

“NO!!!” I ran forward too. I tried to restrain Regie but he keeps flailing.

Illfang jumped in front of us and both of us fell to the ground. As Illfang prepares to deliver his deadly hit on us, someone parried the attack. It was Daymar.

“Run.”

We ran out of the scene and went to the center of the room where the Squads are fighting. I threw a potion at Regie and we both drank it. Illfang was being peppered with attacks from Daymar and his party. Illfang slashes and five of them exploded into tiny shards. Another attack. Illfang slashes again. Ten people are unfortunate. I fought the sentinels. Just as we killed the last Sentinel, Illfang threw his weapon and switched to a new sword.

“Hold up! I’ll take it!” says Dancel.

“NO! I will!” says Daniel.

“I WILL!” says Daymar.

The three ran forward to Illfang. They charged their swords. The floor was suddenly full of smoke.

“Where are they?” I shouted.

My hands searched on the smoke and I found Regie’s hand.

“Shhhhh.” says Regie.

“What?” I whispered.

“Delaying Tactics.” Says Regie and pulls me out of the smoke.

We noticed that Something’s wrong with Illfang. Something peculiar is happening and we need to know why.
