Chapter Seventeen

Floor 61- Salemburg

March 11, 2052

It’s been a year since the incident happened. Everybody got nervous. People will suddenly drop and faint until they explode into a shower of shards. Rumor has it that they have bugs in the game. Some claimed that is was just a minor dysfunction in the game. The GM hasn’t made announcements yet. Until one day, while Celine and I are out in the market buying repots, we found out to an information broker that the incident is what they call the SUDDEN OFFLINE. It’s a state where the body of the player gives up on life and the life support of the hospital is removed. Right.

“People have grown much acquainted in this world.” Says Celine as she cuts up the vegetables in the kitchen.

“Yeah. 2 years inside a deadly game and they have waited too long.” I replied.

“I wonder where Regie is now.” Says Ace.

“We don’t know. We can’t reach him. He’s on the Lead Group now. The Red Dagger Hitters.” Says Celine.

“He joined that guild?!” I asked.

“Nope, but he works for the guild.” Says Celine. “I don’t wanna talk about it.”

We ate what she cooked. You will eat what I cook, inside my house. That’s an agreement. She insists. We can’t refuse. It’s her house anyways. It would save us Corrs, trying to find inns.

“The lead group will start clearing the Floor 74 soon. Wanna join?” asked Celine.

“Would love to.” Says Ace.

“Count me in.” I said.

Celine scrolled through her friend’s list and contacted Peter. Peter is a Vice Commander of the guild The Blade Fist Guild, known as BF Guild. It’s one of the top guilds today and is in the lead groups. Celine is the Major Commander of the Guild so she has contacts with them.

“Count Gen and Ace in the floor Clearing.” She messages him.

“Sure. Would love their Company.” Replied Peter.

We ate Celine’s food and It was good. Ace finished 10 bowls of the meal until he said that he’s full. We went for a walk in the plaza to restock and window shopping.

“Nice seeing you here.” Greets Juvielyn. She was escorted by two strangers who look like nothing to mess with.

“Hi.” I greeted. “Uhhhh…. Followers?” I asked, pointing at the two guards who wore all white.

“I beling to the White Knights Guild. I am the President of that Guild.” She replied.

“COOL!” said Ace.

“Not really. If you have SOME COMPETITORS!” shouted Juvielyn as she saw Ervien.

“Oh look. The Third Best Guild president.” Says Ervien, smiling wickedly. He was wearing the same outfit as Juvielyn but it was only colored Black and Red as Juvielyn’s is colored White and Gold.

“Nice seeing you here, Ervien.” I greeted.

“Oh look. The Solo Player has a company. Isn’t Regie a solo player too?” asked Ervien.

“Yes. He is.” I replied.

“It would be a great honor if the Three of you Joined in my guild.” Says Ervien, Pulling my left hand.

“No. Join in mine. Black means Death. So You could have your own guild, Ervien.” Says Juvielyn, pulling Celine’s right hand.

Ace stood in the center and trying to hold our hands. Ervien and Juvielyn are trying hard to break us apart.

“STOP!” I shouted. “God. We won’t join any guild. We’re Solo Players.” I said.

Ervien and Juvielyn groaned and they trailed off in such a weird tone. We are about to walk when Celine had a pop up message.

“Celine. Teleport to the Guild base. We have a Problem.”
