Chapter Fifteen and Sixteen

Floor 56 - Pani

March 11, 2051

12:00 NN

We found ourselves in an open field near an NPC village in Pani. We left at nine in the morning and arrived at the boss field at 12:00. There was a mark at the center of the field.

“Step on the center of the Mark when I said go. We’ll run and step on the mark. Got it?” shouts Peter over the crowd of 300.

“YES!” We shouted.

“Count of Ten.” Says Peter.

Peter counts off.

9…8…7…6…5….4…

“FUCK THE COUNTDOWN! Let’s Run! ONE!” says William and Runs.

Everybody run as William sped forward. As everyone was inside the big mark, The mark glowed red and It spun. Polygonal Shards started raining on the circle and there formed the Boss: The GeoCrawler. It has the height of a one-story house and is many times longer, like a legged armored earthworm or serpent. It has large horns and very prominent armor on its shoulders, back, legs, and front. It started attacking us and we kept parrying.

“TANKS! NOW!” says Peter as he raised his sword and Maricris and Red’s Party ran forward.

Red and Maricris delivered a well-coordinated, full blow thrust at the chest plate of the GeoCrawler. It’s eyes focused on them and they remained in place. Maricris readied her Potion Bottle and Red readied the bread. The Geocrawler remained hitting Red and Maricris.

“Attacks and Support! NOW!” shouted Peter as he delivers attacks on the tail.

I realized that the one who hits are also my Classmates. Jaren, Mariel, Angelica, Sarah and Rafael are there. They are hitting the Geocrawler while Mariel and Sarah supports.

“Switch!”

The room was all full of noises. I thrusted my sword in the breastplate of the creature and I was lucky that it didn’t notice me. Maricris and Red kept taking repots when their area reaches the Yellow Zone. Ace performed a Vertical Arc at the Creature but all the skills are worthless. Suddenly, at my Peripheral Vision, I saw Regie and Mayline running towards the monster and delivering a Sonic Leap at it. Their swords make no damage at all but it only annoyed the monster so it kept hitting Red and Maricris more. As Mayline jumped forward, the tail of the creature slapped her in the guts where she fell to the floor. Her HP reached the red zone which alarmed Regie and I. I searched for the potions in my inventory. I got the bottle and as I was approaching Mayline, she sang a lullaby. No. You won’t die today. Nope. I forbid it. I can’t take it. I inserted the potion bottle into her mouth and her Ho went to the yellow Zone. Regie shoved me back and put another potion bottle and her HP was on the Green Zone again. Regie glared at me but I didn’t mind that. As I glanced back at the monster, it fell apart, with something like pink beneath the chestplate and I think it fell asleep. One idea came into my mind.

“Mayline!” I shouted. “Sing a Lullaby! Now!” I said.

“But that’s insane!” shouted Regie. “You think it’s a baby?”

“Pathetic.” Says Red.

“O-okay.” Said Mayline and sang the lullaby.

I approached the Chest Plate of the Creature and Performed an Uppercut. It didn’t budge or even opened its eyes.

“On the Count of Three, Let’s do the skills. ” I whispered to Celine.

“But to where?” she asked.

“Just prepare for it.” I said and smiled.

I grabbed her hand and charged. We both ran with our swords ready. The creature was still sleeping. We ran forward and I performed  the Vertical Square while Celine leaped and performed the Star Splash on the Pink Belly underneath the Chest plate. Its HP decreased. We kept performing skills until I heard Peter shout.

“Everyone! To the Great Pink Flabby Belly!”

Everyone rushed in to perform skills on the Belly. The Creature’s HP decreased until it’s only 1/3 of its life is remaining. Everyone is exhausted. The eyes of the Geocrawler suddenly Ignited and Mayline stopped singing. It howled as it waved its sharp claws out of the way.

“DUCK!” I shouted. Celine, Ace and I ducked as the claws swooped like lightning. 

As I lookout, I noticed Lyra, Nyl and Shaira’s Body thrown Upward.

“Ahhh!” screamed Jannah and went mad to hit the Creature’s claws.  The creature parried Jannah’s attack and buried its other claw in Jannah’s Belly, making a trajectory up to her back. Diane’s face was suddenly filled with Shock as she ran forward to deliver a Sonic Leap. Jannah’s Body dropped as the Creature focused its attention on Diane. I was about to jump in when Red and Maricris pinned me down to the ground.

“Let them die.” Was all that Red whispered to my ear as he tightened his grip on my arms and pinned me to the ground.

I watched hopelessly as Lyra, Nyl, Shaira and Jannah’s body disappeared into thin shards. Diane  kept hitting so Michaela interfered with a Sonic leap on its eye. Novelyn and Desiree jumped too to join in.

“No! Don’t!” I shouted but Maricris slapped me.

Novelyn and Desiree got hit by the Creature’s tail. Desiree got caught in the tail and had her body severed into two. They both exploded into thin shards but my attention darted back on Michaela and Diane. They kept performing the skills on the creature. Many people joined in too as they saw that the HP depletes when the belly is hit. They all ran forward but the Creature only whips its tail and the 200 people fighting the Creature exploded into a shower of shards.

“Regie! Help Them!” I said, looking into him as he was standing there and watching.

“I’d rather let them die.” He said.

Suddenly, Ace and Celine dropped on their positions as Red’s guild members paralyzed their bodies. Maricris then tapped my Shoulder and I felt it became numb.

“Big Game we caught here.” Says Red.

“The Lightning Bitch, I mean… The Lightning Thief and her Pathetic Friends.” Says Maricris.

“Look what we have here. The Whore and the jerk.” Says Celine, smirking.

“We shall PK you after this.” Says Red.

Regie was just standing there beside us, observing.

“You better join the Club, Reg.” says Maricris.

“Im not choosing sides.” Says Regie.

“Even if it means your best friend’s life?” says Red as he holds a knife in my neck.

I could see Regie’s eyes widen but he managed to keep his neutral expression. I started feeling my shoulder again so I pretended that it was still paralyzed.

“Go Kill Him.” Says Regie as he turns his back on me.

As I felt Red trying to move the knife on my neck, I grabbed his hand and bit it. The Knife fell off and broke.

“DURABILITY IS A BITCH!” I shouted and gave Red a Headbutt. He fell, clutching his head. I ran as Celine and Ace got up. Maricris took out her blades and started throwing them.

“Blade Throwing Skill. Should’ve known.” Mutters Celine.

Then the Commotion Stopped.

A Big CONGRATULATIONS! is flashing. Diane and Michaela did it. Maricris hid her weapons and joined in the crowd as Red stood up, clutching his head. We joined in the crowd too. Just as we are celebrating, Michaela, Diane, Sarah, Rafael, Jaren and Angelica fainted. They smiled a little and exploded into a shower of shards.
