Chapter Twenty Seven

***Change of Point of View***

*Regie’s Point of View*

Ace has his eyes closed. As soon as the blade nearly hit Ace, Gen used his last bit of energy to use sprint and block the attack. My best friend fell at the ground, besides Ace and lied down.

“NO!” Ace shouted. He gathered up enough energy to crawl beside Gen. I held Celine’s hands and tried to stand up. We walked limply towards Ace and joined Gen.

“Bes. Don’t die on me.” I said.

“At least I saved one of my best friend’s life.” He replied.

“It’s my fault.” Says Ace. “I’m too weak.”

“It isn’t. You won’t be in here if you aren’t strong.” Says Gen

His life is slowly running out. I know that no more measures can be done to save my best friend. It’s Futile.

“Thanks for the Company, anyways. I promise to see each of you in the real world.” Says Gen as he smiled.

“We will.” Says Celine.

“Thank you very much.” Says Gen. “Best Friends.” And he exploded into a shower of shards.

Gen left his blade behind. Ace appraised it and it showed: Chrono Heartsbane. I gave Ace my Elucidator so he could replace his. I picked up Gen’s Chrono heartsbane and Equipped it with my Dark Repulsor. For my Best Friend. For all of the players, I thought.

“It wasn’t my fault anyways. That bloke put himself in his death.” Says the GM.

“Say that. You’ll die anyways.” Says Celine.

We all ran. I hopped at Paula’s paralyzed body. I glanced at her and back to the GM.  We both ran and performed skills. Ace delivered his lightning-fast Howling Octave which made a 40-hit streak at the GM which opened his weak spot. I guess we are brave enough to face the GM with our HP, close to running out. Celine disarmed the GM but his sword struck the Paralyzed Paula, making her Explode into a shower of shards.  Enraged by Gen’s death, I swung my two blades at him and stabbed him. Suddenly, everything stopped. I could hear everyone’s breathing.

“Damn it.” Says The GM and exploded into a shower of shards.

The crowd went crazy.  Everyone became elated about the death. I dropped to my knees and I felt tears ran down my face. Celine and Ace encapsulated me within their hugs and  rubs on the back.

“As of June 25, 2052, at exactly 4:49 PM, The game has been cleared. I repeat, the Game has been cleared. Logging out Players.”

Everything vanished in sight. I open my eyes just to see myself standing in front of a crumbling Aincrad. Beside me was Celine and Ace who is looking at the castle.

“Pretty hard game, huh?” I said.

“Nope. It’s too easy.” Says Ace, smiling.

Just then, the GM approached us.

“Congratulations to you three, you’ve beat the game.” Says the GM.

“Thanks” Says Celine.

“I have a question.” Says Regie.”Why do this to all of the people?”

“I had the dream of recreating SAO all over again. Kayaba Akihiko was all part of the framework but his secrets was discovered at floor 75. I want to change that. I want everyone to meet the boss at floor 100 and clear the game for real.” Says the GM.

“What about the people?” asked Ace. “Gen?”

“Im sorry.” Says the GM.

“You can’t. You just….” Says Celine.

We have cleared the game yet, We’ve lost our friends. The GM left and vanished. Celine, Ace and I watched the sunset at Aincrad. Just then, I woke up just to see myself lying in bed, beside Ace, Celine, and Gen.
