*Austin's POV*
"Austin! Did you take the garbage out?" Mom said.
I sighed and stood up. "I'm doing it right now, Mom."
"Thank you, Austin!" She said.
I went to the kitchen and grabbed the garbage bag, tying it up and throwing it over my shoulder and going out the back door. I threw the bag in the trash and then dragged the garbage can to the front curb.
I looked over at the house next door and noticed the for sale sign had a big red SOLD sticker on it. I smiled and went back into the house.
"Mom?" I called.
"In the kitchen!" She said back.
I went to the kitchen and motioned to the window. "The house next door is sold."
She nodded and smiled. "I noticed. I seen the people moving some stuff in this morning." She took a drink of her water. "They have daughter about your age, she's really cute."
I chuckled. "Yeah right, Ma."
"She was. And not the cute I usually say." She shrugged. "She was really pretty."
I sat on the counter. "I wonder when they're moving in."
Mom shrugged. "When they do maybe you and Alan can get together and invite her out."
"Yeah mom. That's what every girl wants. Some geeky weirdos with red hair and braces is what the new girl in town wants." I said.
She shook her head. "A girl would be lucky to date one of you." She walked away.
I sighed and looked out the window to the neighbors house. I hoped she'd be nice.
