My hands are fussing under the scratchy material of the robe that binds them together on my lap. The material that's been put over my mouth is making me gag and I can clearly hear Jess gagging and breathing heavily as she sits next to me in the back of the black Porsche Cayenne.

As soon as I saw the car, I was as reluctant to get in is as Jess was when she gave Kurt a swift elbow in the ribs. Kurt had laughed when he was taking me to the car, pulling me along next to him by the elbow. He asked if it reminded me of something and I just angrily stared at him as my only way of saying that I knew all too well what it reminded me of.

When we were all placed in the car - me in the back with Jess by my side and Thom in the passenger seat - he informed everyone else of why he was using the Porsche to end our lives. He told Jess that he had used the car to try and run me off the road and wither or not she liked the upgrade it's had since she first got it as her car.

All of that happened almost thirty minutes ago now; Kurt's speeding making the time go by quicker before we get to wherever it is he's planning on taking us to before killing us. He has no regard for the red lights he's run now we're away from the country roads and heading straight back to Manchester.

I think it's his way of trying to scare us as cars slam on the breaks and sound their horns round about us as we pass. If there's anyone thinking of crossing the road when they see this car coming towards them or are already in the middle of crossing the road when we come, they'll be as much a goner as what we are.

"I know you're all wondering where it is we're going," Kurt starts, breaking the silence and tapping his hands on the steering wheel a few times before pressing his foot firmer on the gas. "Truth being, I don't know where I'm taking you."

I look over at Jess as she continues to fuss and gag. She looks a lot paler now we're in the natural light and I can see the fresh tears that are slipping freely from her eyes.

"My first thought was to call your husband, Leigh, and tell him that I had you. I was going to ask for a ransom but that's not as good as killing you."

My eyes snap to look at the interior mirror as Kurt looks back at me through it. I scowl and he laughs.

"But that was too easy. It all evolves around you so I don't really know what to do next. Unless . . ."

He takes the next right, causing my body to hit against the door at the quick turn.

"Unless there's another way I can to him by using you. That's a very good idea, actually. It includes me killing us all and putting him through turmoil. Oh, I'm good!"

He falls silent again, his driving getting more and more riskier with every turn of the tyres.

After a further thirty minutes of driving, we come to a stop at the end of a street and I dare myself to look out the window at the street. Panic quickly overcomes my every sense and I look at Kurt who had turned to look back at me.

"That's right, sweetie pie. This is the street your house sits on. I guess you know what's going to happen next," he smirks. He turns back round and reaches into the inside pocket of leather jacket, pulling his mobile phone free from where it was kept in his pocket. "Will Joey boy be home, Leigh? I really want to speak to him."

I growl at him and it only generates a scoff from him as he lifts the phone up to his ear.

"Of course he'll be home. He'll be worried about you since you didn't call for him to go and collect you yesterday. Oh, Joey boy!"

I breath heavily and glance at Jess who's finally given up on trying to escape and almost being sick.

"Listen, I know you're wondering where your wife is . . . Oh, now that kind of language is not going to get you anywhere . . . I have see her. In fact, I'm looking at her right now . . . Sorry. Can't do that. She's sorta tied up with other things right now . . . I wasn't going to but since you said it, I might just do that . . . Jess says hi, too."

He drops the phone to the floor by his feet before the car starts to move again. It gains speed quickly and I can actually feel my heart begin to beat faster. I'm starting to panic, as is Jess. She's began to hit the window next to her in an attempt to break it but it's no use.

Nothing we do will be of any use.

"I'm sorry to be a killjoy but this has to be done."

With a sudden turn of the steering wheel, the car turns and my eyes widen as the brick wall and wooden fence of my marital home comes into view and the car drives start into it at it's high speed of well over 60mph.
