The sun bloomed over the peaceful skyline of Seoul, a bustling metropolis where the Kim family reigned. Golden rays stretched outwards towards the rich blue, skyscrapers glowing more than they did in their dayshine. It was a party of colours, of chaos and celebration, an invitation to a new day.
Seokjin squinted as the light cast over his eyes, shifting his form slightly so that he blocked the brightness from his view, attempting to return to his slumber, yet, failing.
Instead, his attention turned to the figure that was snuggled against him, his own arms wrapped protectively around his wife's waist.
Nabi's head rested upon the crook of his shoulder, one arm splayed over his chest whilst the other gripped his hand tightly, as though she didn't want him to leave her.
And he wouldn't.
She was stunning, even in her drowse. Her dark locks tickled his skin and the Capo gently massaged her scalp.
They had consummated their marriage as was expected of them, but most importantly, they had made love ; been intimate in a way that neither would be able to explain.
His mind flashed back towards the moment she had expressed her love for him, how only a few hours earlier to their intimacy, she'd told him that she trusted him.
Seokjin knew that his brothers trusted him and in return, he trusted them. But that was different, their brotherhood was inexplainable, feelings and emotions that ran deeper than regular siblings, because if anything happened to either Namjoon or Taehyung, he would avenge them in the way he knew best.
But Nabi?
Nabi's trust was delicate, fragile yet bloomed like a rare flower in his heart, a trust that she had placed in him and him only as her husband. And he trusted her. He saw the way she loved her brother-in-laws and cared for them just as he did. Seokjin saw the way she admired his stepmother, and her relationship with her own siblings was commendable.
And in that moment, it had occured to him that he loved her the way a husband should.
...
It was a weekly occurence for Namjoon and Taehyung to have dinner at the Capo's penthouse, one night where the four forgot about their positions in the mafia world and enjoyed life as family.
As Nabi opened and closed drawers, trying to find cutlery, Taehyung watched her with a particular gaze of attentiveness.
"You look different," He finally concluded as the girl spun around, confusion evident on her face.
"I haven't cut my hair," She hummed. "Or changed my fashion style or make-up. Do I look different?" She turned to her husband, who shook his head and to Namjoon who shrugged.
"No, there's this glow," Taehyung's lips twicthed into a smirk. "A very particular glow that you only get when you have... consummated a marriage,"
His voice trailed off as his oldest brother shot him a glare, though Seokjin was rather amused at Nabi's blush. Namjoon rolled his eyes, but he too had a smile on his face.
"Let's eat," The middle brother spoke and the four descended into conversation, ignoring the statement made earlier.
Hours passed as the four finished eating and were halfway through a movie, Nabi having fell asleep on Seokjin's lap, providing the perfect opportunity for the three boys to talk.
"Nabi looks happier," Namjoon said thoughtfully before adding sharply. "You are making her happy?"
"I try," The Capo mumbled, pressing a soft kiss to her cheeks.
"You two definitely fucked, didn't you?" Taehyung grinned. "Explains why you're so lovey dovey,"
"I'd prefer the term, 'made love', but yes, we fucked," Seokjin sighed at his brother's antics.
"Not to divert the topic," Namjoon paused as the boys looked over at him. "But our Captain Yoongi, has given word that Daegu is getting stronger and stronger by the day, we should be prepared,"
Seokjin's lips twitched into a frown, his eyes flitting towards his wife who lay peacefully in slumber.
He would protect her with his life.
