The hallway clock chimed 5 o'clock, signalling those with plans to hast as they all had places to be.
"Thank you again for letting me borrow one of your dresses buttercup," Chrissy expressed whilst she squeezed Cassie in a tight hug.
"What's mine is yours," Cassie almost gasped, signalling Chrissy to release her from her grip.
"Wa- hey hey," Sebastian sang as he danced into the hallway, not long after getting off the call from his date. "Shorty, don't wait up for me tonight," he continued dancing messing with his hair in the mirror, striking some interesting poses.
"You staying out?"
"You bet ya, she's not in town for long and wants to make the most of tonight-"
"Lalalala not listening." Cassie complained like a child, placing her hands over her ears and turning away from him. She did not want to know about her brother's plans with his date.
"Right we're off," Jaxen announced, waving goodbye to the boys that sat in the living room, who were gathering their things also to leave.
"Enjoy your date," Cassie added, giving Chrissy a farewell hug before opening the front door for them.
"Love you, sweetie."
"Love you too Chrissy," Cassie responded, waving goodbye to them as they walked down the drive.
"Elijah," Dylan called from the top of the stairs, racing down to him, as they walked into the hallway, Dylan colliding with the group as he rounded the small corner.
"What is it, dude?" Elijah asked.
"You almost forgot this," he commented, extending his hand out that held his jacket. The jacket. Elijah hadn't been wearing it lately, because he didn't have it, and he had told Brody a very true story, that was overheard by the others.
"I thought your girl had it," Max teased, looking over at him as Cassie's eyes widened. This was it, the moment they get found out, it was all about to be over.
"She did, I picked it up from her yesterday, before the party," Elijah argued, snatching the jacket from Dylan and gripping it tightly.
"But you weren't wearing it when I saw you last," Max argued back. He had forgotten the two younger boys did not drink last night, so they would remember.
"I picked it up from his car last night when I was helping him, he wouldn't stop complaining until I got it," Cassie intervened, trying to help Elijah with his story.
"That's Elijah for you," Josh laughed, causing others around them to join in.
"Won't stop complaining till he gets what he wants," Dylan added. By now they were all laughing, somewhat awkwardly, whilst Greg tried to analyse the situation and piece it all together, which he failed to do so, giving up quickly.
"Alright, out with you all," Sebastian announced, almost pushing Dylan towards the door.
"Be nice Sebastian," Cassie argued, as she grabbed Dylan's shoulder pulling him away from Sebastian's grip.
"Bye Cassie," Dylan spoke before hugging her tightly, lengthening the hug as long as he could.
"Move along Hawk, you got a girlfriend already," Greg teased, hitting him in the back.
"You have a girlfriend?" Cassie asked, she loved Dylan like a little brother and this was news to her.
"Look at the time," Dylan pushed from the hug in embarrassment, walking out into the evening air. "Come on Max let's go."
