Cassie sat through her last lesson of the day, watching the clock tick. When the bell finally rang, she was the first one out the door and into the hallway, walking up towards the gymnasium. She took a deep breath before walking through the doors, where she was greeted by a couple of the girls on the team who were already warming up. After setting her stuff down, she joined them in stretching, whilst everyone entered at different points. Once Chrissy had arrived Cassie moved herself closest to her, wanting some form of comfort in her presence."Right girlies, we are going to do the four routines again, we have to go over them as much as possible, so we know them before the big game." Chrissy stated, walking over to the stereo. "Cas, take it easy please buttercup."
She knew what happened yesterday had scared Chrissy, and she didn't want to do that again.
They rehearsed and rehearsed, panting like dogs when they had run through the final routine. Chrissy and Cassie completely lost themselves when they were dancing, it was their distraction from the real world, and a distraction they shared together. "Can we call it a day now, please, I'm sweating and tired and my feet kill," one of the girls said receiving agreeable murmurs from others.
"Okay," Chrissy said reluctantly. "You all did really great today guys, have a good evening." Everyone walked over to their belongings and soon enough it was just Cassie and Chrissy left in the large gym.
"Chris," Cassie spoke.
"Yes, buttercup."
"Do you think I flirt with every guy that gives me attention?" Chrissy's eyes shot over to her quicker than speed itself.
"What?" Cassie didn't say anything back allowing Chrissy to fully process what she had said. Chrissy walked over to her, sitting beside her on the floor. "Who said that?"
"Greg. He was lecturing me about being at Elijah's last night, saying Elijah didn't care about me, and how I brought it on myself with the whole Brody thing."
"I'll murder him, Cassie, I swear. "Chrissy expressed in an annoyed manner. "Who does he think he is, saying that to you? I thought he was a good guy as well."
"Me too," Cassie spoke in a defeated tone.
"He's wrong sweetie, very, very wrong. I have never once seen you flirt with Brody, nor have I ever seen you flirt with Elijah, and I see the way he looks at you, he isn't in it for the-," she hesitated, not wanting to say the word, it being a taboo subject to talk about. "You know. He really likes you Cassie, and of course, he does, what is there not to like."
"A lot," Cassie muttered catching Chrissy's attention immediately.
"Hey, hey, you are amazing and awesome and crazy talented, and any guy would be lucky enough to have you, okay," Chrissy said, she knew Cassie wouldn't believe her, but it was worth a shot.
By this point the girls whee lying flat on the floor looking up at the roof of the hall, there being nothing interesting to grasp their attention, but it was a blank space for the pair to draw paintings on with their minds as they thought.
"What happened when you were at Elijah's Cas?" Chrissy asked in a hesitant tone, unsure of the answer herself.
"I took like three naps, I met his uncle who gave me food and I fell asleep, and he slept next to me and then his uncle told me how he thinks Elijah likes me as well and then," Cassie stopped herself when she thought back to that moment where they almost kissed. What if she had read it wrong and it wasn't a moment?
"And then what Cassie?" Chrissy pushed, turning on her side to see the thoughts floating around Cassie's head.
"And then we nearly kissed."
