(I totally forgot to publish this on Monday so here you go guys! Here's some more vampire action! I hope you guys will enjoy this)!
I awoke after what seemed like hours. I groaned, trying to figure out where I was. I instantly recognized it as my room. Georges and I had separate rooms. We would've been sharing one room by next month after our wedding. This room would've been turned into a different room.
I heard a knock on my door. "Come in." I groaned. Our maid, Manon, walked in. "Good evening madame. How are you feeling?" She asked. "Terrible. I feel like I'm dying." I answered, weakly. I coughed afterwards. I must've caught the flu or something. Looks like I'm gonna die the same way my parents did. I hope I do.
Manon gave me a sympathetic smile. "You must feel horrible that the monsieur has passed." She said, fixing up my blankets. I looked at her, puzzled. Was he actually dead? I wasn't imagining it? Manon seemed to notice my puzzled gaze. She gasped.
"Oh dear! Did nobody tell you?" She asked, shocked. I shook my head. "Madame, he was found dead outside the house where the party was. You were found unconscious near him." Manon explained. I widened my eyes. So it really wasn't a dream.
I felt absolutely bewildered that Georges was dead. I honestly didn't care and I'm glad he's dead. However, I was still in shock. "I'll leave you alone to grieve." Manon muttered, walking out the room and shutting the door. I laid back down, trying to rest. There was no way I would mourn him.
As I laid there in bed, I couldn't stop thinking about that beautiful yet mysterious man I saw last night. He was so handsome and charming. His French accent kept replaying in my head. Lestat. That was his name. I closed my eyes, trying to slip into dreamland when I felt someone's presence in the room. I opened my eyes, looking around the room. I gasped, seeing him.
"Hello, mademoiselle. Lovely to see you again." He greeted in a soft yet mysterious voice. "Are you here to kill me?" I asked. "No. How could I?" He replied. "What do you want?" I asked, bits of fear laced in my voice. Lestat gazed at me with those beautiful yet piercing blue eyes. "I was drawn to you last night chérie. I knew you needed help. I could feel your fear. You're tired of this life that you're living." Lestat explained in a cold, calming whisper. I stared at him, wondering how the hell he knew that.
He knelt down, his face a few inches away from mine. His long, blonde hair fell over his shoulders and face in waves. He was hypnotizing to look at. It should be a crime to be this beautiful. "What if I could give you a new life? One that will be perfect, a life unimaginable, for all eternity. Where sickness and death could never touch you." He explained. It honestly sounded like a tempting offer.
"Don't be afraid. I'm going to give you the choice I never had." He comforted, holding out his hand. I hesitated for a moment. What was he gonna do? I thought about the safe feeling that I felt with him last night. I wanted to feel that again. I took it and he led the way.
I gazed out the window and saw the sun setting. It was beautiful. I liked looking at the sunset. I occasionally did that to clear my mind from the pain of living with Georges. It had already set by the time I got outside. I walked around outside the backyard and walked further into the woods. The woods were connected to the backyard. I felt weak and tired as I walked so I sat on the ground.
After a moment of silence, I heard him again. "Have you said your goodbyes to the light?" Lestat asked. Before I could respond, I felt a sharp pain in my neck again. It lasted for a few minutes before it was finally over.
"I've drained you to the point of death. If I leave you here, you'll die. Or, you can always be young, as we are now. But you must tell me, will you come? Yes or no?" Lestat asked, whispering in my ear. I am honestly really sick of this life. Maybe this life that Lestat is offering me will be better. "Yes." I answered, weakly. I heard rustling as Lestat sat up.
After a moment, I felt a liquid on my mouth. It tasted really good yet metallic. I glanced up and realized it was blood. Lestat held out his wrist and I drank. I drank until I felt satisfied. Once I pulled away, I felt instant pain in my body.
I winced and thrashed around in pain. I tried to get in a fetal position but that didn't even work. I groaned and shouted out in pain. I could hear Lestat speaking but I couldn't fully understand what he was saying. After a moment, the pain stopped. I sat up and looked at him. "Now look with your vampire eyes." Lestat said. He helped me up and I looked around. Wow. My eyesight was better than ever.
"Satisfied, chérie?" Lestat asked. I nodded. This new life that I have just started but yet, it's already feeling good.
