Chapter Twenty

Bakugo has gotten to a good point in the week.

Okay it was the weekend and it's because he's going on his date with Todoroki, but it's the first thing in a while that he's looked forward to.

He knows it's not good to rely on relationships to feel happy, but sometimes it's good to find things to look forward to.

It's okay to feel happy about things like this because guess fucking what.

He's got a date with the best guy on campus and he's so excited.

Kirishima will not shut up about how excited he is for the blond, either, and it just makes Bakugo feel so accepted and better.

Even his parents (yes he told his parents) are supportive and even sent him money just in case.

Todoroki is rich, but it would be rude to expect him to pay for everything. Bakugo won't let him. His parents also don't know that it's Todoroki.

Bakugo just said it was that friend who had been helping him out before.

He'll tell them who he actually is if the date goes okay. He's very anxious because there's so much that can go wrong. There are so many people that will recognize both of them. While Todoroki gets good publicity, Bakugo gets the bad side of that.

"Bakugo?"

Todoroki knocks on his door and Bakugo has to contain himself.

He can't just jump up and down in excitement.

So he calmly walks to the door and opens it to find Todoroki standing there in nice clothes.

It's not too formal, but it's obvious that he put more effort than usual for this. He even has on some jewelry and some really fancy smelling Cologne.

Bakugo is dressed nicely, too. It's already kind of cold out so a long sleeve doesn't look weird.

He's excited.

"You look amazing," Todoroki smiles.

He looks shy and it has Bakugo thanking whatever God made Todoroki this fucking beautiful.

"Look in a mirror, Halfie, cause everyone's gonna drop dead when they see you. Let's go."

He takes Todoroki's hand and they walk to the elevator.

Bakugo is a little less anxious now as he turns to Todoroki who's already looking at him. The idiot new kid squeezes his hand.

That's when Bakugo realizes this is their first time holding hands like this.

It's maybe not a big deal for most, but this is Todoroki fucking Shoto. It's a big deal for him and it always will be.

"What's the plan?"

Act casual.

Don't freak out.

"I got a restaurant reserved, but that's later. I wanna be at the little fair they have while there's still light out. Before it gets dark we can head to the restaurant. Is a movie okay after?"

A whole thing planned.

"No watching the sunset?"

"I have some blankets we can set up on the roof of the dorms. We can watch it together there," Todoroki easily says.

He's so collected and cool.

But that sounds nice. Hopefully the date goes well enough to be able to do that together.

"Okay."

Pulling an all nighter with Todoroki was definitely worth it.
