Chapter Fifty-Four

Finals were brutal, but his mental health didn't suffer for long.

Recovery Girl was able to heal him the night after he hurt himself because he had eaten, and now he's deciding what stuff he's going to take home with him for the summer.

He's nervous for the summer.

Todoroki decided to work under his dad for a month to get some experience and maybe try to fix his relationship a bit.

It was something he'd been thinking about, and after talking to Bakugo and his family, he decided to call up his dad and try to get that done.

Sure it was only for one month and Bakugo could see him all the time, but it still had him on edge.

He knows what Endeavor did.

How he made Todoroki feel.

The injuries both physically and mentally that Todoroki and his family suffered were immense.

The scene he stirred up when he'd come to the dorms just raised Bakugo's hesitation more, but he was supportive of his boyfriend's decision.

If this was something that Todoroki wanted to do, then Bakugo would be behind the decision. Especially seeing as Todoroki thought this would help in his journey to healing just a bit more.

At the beginning of the summer, he never even thought about how Todoroki could be put in a coma and that's exactly what happened

Just two weeks into the internship, Todoroki ended up in the hospital after a fight with Endeavor.

The pro hero was put on probation while they investigated everything, but once they found out exactly what happened, his hero license was taken away from him and he was put on trial.

There were security tapes that showed them yelling at each other before Endeavor got a little too angry and struck Todoroki suddenly, leaving the teen shocked.

When Todoroki put his hands in front of him to protect himself, no signs of quirk use on Todoroki's end, Endeavor got more violent and knocked him out, beating him in a rage even after he'd passed out.

Obviously once the media caught wind of the video, they did everything to get their hands on it, and once they did, the video was everywhere.

Bakugo didn't watch it. Couldn't bear to witness his boyfriend being beaten so bad he was in a coma now.

He was right to be nervous for the summer.

Todoroki was so sure it could help him mentally to work with his dad. So sure that it had Bakugo somewhat thinking it could, too.

Bakugo was stressed when he'd heard. He immediately asked his parents to drive him to the hospital and he was crying and shaking as soon as he'd heard.

He was distraught to say the least.

At the hospital, he had to stop himself from running to the room that Rei had texted him Todoroki was in.

The second he saw his boyfriend's beat up face, he'd frozen, silent tears dripping down his face.

Todoroki was never supposed to look like this.

He's supposed to look soft and unbruised.

The only marks on his face should be his old scar and super light freckles he'd been getting now since the sun was out more.

Not these purple and yellow bruises all across his face.

Not his swollen eyes.

He's not supposed to be surrounded by tubes and beeping monitors.
