Chapter Forty-Five

Getting to the squirrel zoo thing was way easier than the train ride.

There weren't many people who looked at them, and by then, Bakugo had already calmed down.

The progress is slow, but it's there and Bakugo can see it. He can actually see that he's getting better. Now the only thing that needs to happen is the League's imprisonment.

He needs them either in jail or dead.

That way he can finally move on.

It's the only way he can actually feel safe.

Right now, he feels safe enough with Todoroki here holding his hand right after he protected him from people who were harassing him.

It'll probably hit him hard later, but right now he's happy.

Enjoying the moments leading up to Todoroki's surprise is easy.

When they finally get to the place, Todoroki is still confused, trying to get a clue of what the place is from the front. All it has is the name of the petting zoo and some trees.

It isn't until they get inside to check in before going to the back that Todoroki learns what it is and gasps.

"Katsuki, you didn't," he says, placing a hand dramatically on Bakugo's upper arm.

"But I did," the blond smirks.

Bakugo and Todoroki are then led to the back which is outside and holds the squirrels.

Lots of them.

"Oh my god, Katsuki," he says, clearly excited.

The person who led them tells them the rules about the squirrels and asks them to give up any food that they may have with them now because the squirrels like to take even if they can't eat it.

Since neither teen had food with them and listened to the rules, answering questions about what they were just told, they were allowed in, Todoroki practically running.

Okay, he didn't run, but he was pulling Bakugo along and he was walking really fucking fast. With those long legs of his, Bakugo had to jog a bit.

When they enter, Todoroki looks around like a mad man, searching for his first squirrel victim.

The poor thing will be trapped in a petting frenzy until Bakugo has to physically pull Todoroki away from it to look and pet the other ones.

Eventually, that does happen, Todoroki locking in on a squirrel and making that his victim for the next few minutes.

Bakugo does have to pull him away from it and convince him to look at and pet more since there are lots more.

He listens, moving to his next victims. Bakugo starts holding and petting some squirrels, too, and when he sees a squirrel on Todoroki's shoulder, Todoroki looking back at it, noses touching, Bakugo had to take a photo.

Halfie looks so happy and excited that the squirrel is touching his nose with its own.

It's like Todoroki knew that he was being photographed because he turns to Bakugo right after he took the picture.

"Did you take a photo?"

Bakugo likes taking pictures of Todoroki.

Has a folder just of his photos on his phone. "Yeah."

Why lie?

"Are you going to post it?"

Their relationship hasn't been made official to the public just yet. Neither has confirmed or denied it, so this could be the way they do it.
