What is joy without sorrow? What is success without failure? What is win without loss? You have to experience each if you are to appreciate the other.  There is always going to be suffering. It's how you look at your suffering, how you deal with it, that will define you."   Mark Twain

Chapter 1

Faith pulled her long teal hair up into a messy bun as she placed the last of  their clothes in a bag.  The night sky had just started to turn grey with the coming of dawn as she took a final look at the place that was her home.  Twenty-two years of memories echoed through the halls.  The laughter and the tears that the family had shared. All their hopes and dreams were built into the very foundation.  A lone tear trekked down her cheek as she gazed upon her family, waiting by the car.

No one spoke on the long drive to the pack house, where she and her younger brother Luchair would be given over to a new pack.  As they drew closer to their destination their mother ,Ariadne, broke down in tears with the middle twins Joy and Hope joining in.

As the two cars containing Faith's family pulled into the drive of the pack house the Alpha strode onto the porch with his Beta following behind.

" Whoever is going get your bags the rest of you are dismissed." Cole growled cruelly.

This had worked out better than he could have expected.  Not only was a certain problem taken care of without him having to dirty his own paws but now he was getting rid of two of these useless half breeds.

"No" cried Ariadne "Please Alpha Cole, please allow us our goodbyes" she pleaded.

Cole glared at the petite fairy in contempt. Why Axel, a promising wolf who should have been standing as his Beta, would ruin his bloodline by mixing it with that freak of nature was beyond him.  Such a waste.

"I gave you your orders and I expect them to be obeyed" with that Cole re-entered the house while Eric strode from the shadows to make sure the family followed his orders.

Faith grabbed her baggage as she steeled herself to say a final goodbye to her family.  Turning she was enveloped in her mother's warm arms.

"Go mom and know we love you.  All will be well. You have taught us to be strong and we will survive this with the knowledge of all your love in our hearts."

As Ariadne turned away the youngest set of twins stepped forward hands clasped together.  As the sun peaked over the trees and began to pinken the sky the four year old girls' eyes turned silver and they began to speak in unison.

" May the gods and goddesses of the Fae and Shifters bless those who have been chosen for this new blessed life.  May it be filled with happiness and love.  May your life be blessed with good family and friends.  And may you always look back on the rest of your family with fondness in your hearts.  Go with peace and joy, Faith and Luchair of the Fae and Shifter peoples, and know that you will all be together again in the future."  With that both twins collapsed onto the ground sound asleep.

Ariadne and Axel rushed to the sleeping girls picking them up and checking to see if they were okay.

"Mom, Dad are the girls alright ?" Asked Faith as she and her five other siblings looked on in fear.

"Yes they seem fine but we should take them home to be certain."

With that Beta Eric stepped forward and grabbed the two submissive tributes and ordered the rest of the family to be gone.

Soon all Faith could see were the tail lights of her families cars as they headed home.  What was awaiting them in this knew place they were being forced to? Faith shivered in the chill of the dawn as she thought of what would become of her and of her young brother who was only just turning eighteen.  Would they be treated well? Or would their new pack treat them the same as this pack, ostrisizing them because of their mixed heritage and strange ways.

"Do not worry dear sister, for we are strong and we have love and family to keep us going against anything.  You are not alone, for I will be right by your side in this." Luch said quietly.
