"Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies.". Aristotle
It had been a week since Faith's accident and she was done. Done with sitting around. Done with the males cosseting her. It started out sweet, but now they were just out of hand.
Dmitri and the young had not trained since the day of her accident. He had one of his team members taking care of the older trainees while he and the boys stayed with her.
Now after seven days she was one helpful act from screaming down the house. This morning, like the last six, before her foot could even touch the floor Dmitri was there to carry her to the bathroom. He then stood at the door asking every five seconds if she needed help. What did he plan on doing to help? Brush her teeth? Wipe when she finished using the toilet?
When she finished she was then carried to the couch and guarded like she was the crown jewels. Never left alone, if she even shifted positions the boys were running to Dmitri who would then rush in to smother her with his concern.
But no more. She was sick of the couch. She was sick of fast food. Most importantly, no matter how much the boys tried they couldn't seem to keep the house clean. A week of dust and detritus had built up throughout the house.
She couldn't sit on the couch another minute or she would go insane. The boredom was turning her bipolar. Her emotions were all over the place. One minute she was happy and laughing over something Jamie had done, the next she would tear up just imagining what it would be like in the next year or so when Rafael and Lincoln would leave them to move to the dormitories.
With determination, Faith threw off her blanket and stood up. Eric, the little tattletale ran from the room yelling for Dmitri. Rafe stayed in his chair while laughing evilly at Faith's predicament.
"You know it's your own fault. Since the first day he arrived you've been pushing for him to connect with us."
"I didn't expect this. Especially so soon. I just wanted you all to have an adult that cared about you.".
Faith and Rafe's conversation was cut short by the angry warrior storming into the room. Faith held up her hand to stop him from moving her.
Rafe quickly left the room to gather the rest of the boys and go outside. They had all been cooped up indoors all week and needed to let loose. It would keep them occupied in case the argument got out of hand.
"That's enough Dmitri. I'm fine and you know it. No more carrying me around. ".
Faith started out yelling but seeing the hurt in his eyes she softened her tone and smiled slightly.
"We both have duties. The boys have to go back to training as do you and I, well I need to do something before I go insane."
Dmitri hung his head in defeat. He knew Faith was right. She and Jaden showed no adverse effects from their accident . But thoughts of her getting hurt while he was away from the house filled his mind causing his behavior.
"What if you need me, Solynshko Moyà? What if you get hurt again and we're not here?"
Even knowing that she was right he had to try. Had to let her know that just the possibility of her being in pain or in danger brought him to his knees in a way nothing ever had.
"For how long Dimi? How long can you put all our lives on hold? " Faith questioned softly.
"Until you reach your immortality? Maybe by then I will let you walk by yourself. I'm not sure though about driving. That may be never.".
Dimi tried to pass his comments off as joking, but Faith could hear the truth behind his words. Letting her head fall in exasperation, she let out a small laugh. Were all males so ridiculous?
