He didn't know he was in the presence of a royal.

Ink and Swap were sparing outside of the Star Sanses base. The morning rising and the birds chirping at every single moment. It can be said that they woke up early and decided to train, though a part of Ink wanted to tease the other member who was inside.

"Ink, are you sure?" Swap inquired, his voice worried with a hint of confusion. "I mean, Dream would tell you if he wanted too."

"But I need to! You don't know either!" The protector grinned in triumph as the other sighed and gave in, he too were curious about their friend.

It started at the time they finally went back inside, finding the guardian sipping some sort of tea from a cup. He drank in small sips, coming to notice the two standing in front of him menacingly.

"What's going on?" he hesitantly asked. Dream didn't like the energy from Swap, mischief and concern washed over the guard's aura.

"Dreamboat, we both know how hard it was to keep this secret up." Ink smiled, although it turned slightly into a smirk.

"Excuse me?" Dream blinked at them confusingly.

"You can trust us, friend!" The skeleton in blue reassured.

The guardian stood up from his seat and cautiously took a step back. The two only followed, cornering the poor skeleton. Dream huffed, displeased with their behaviour. He crossed his arms with a glare at them both.

"Whatever you're thinking, it's clearly not true." he sighed. The protector only stared at him weirdly, pointing at his accessory on top of his skull.

"Are you a prince?"

"No, I just have the crown."

"But friend! You have the characteristics!"

"I don't care."
