"Why am I doing this?" Ink had started once he sat in the couch of the Star Sanses base, watching as Swap played around with his action figures silently with a grin.

Dream sighed, "Because we need to talk about your feelings." he took the protector's hands into his own, a gentle smile on his face. "Ink, this is something that wasn't talked about."

The skeleton blinked in sheer confusion, staring as the guardian pulled away and held a clipboard. Dream cleared his throat and tapped his pencil that Ink hadn't noticed till now.

"Is this free therapy?" the skeleton in yellow choked back a laugh, shaking his skull.

"No, no, just a checkup that's all." Getting comfortable in his cushioned seat, his expression turned neutral. "So, tell me, what do you feel about the monster process?" he asked, chuckling at Ink's disgusted expression.

"You did not call it like that." Dream only shrugged, clearly trying to smother a grin. "Well, I guess I don't really get it? Like, why produce monsters as an act of love in a relationship? Is it needed?"

The guardian hummed, "Relationships don't need that, necessarily, though others just like to have romance more than that." he took notice of Ink's skull tilt and stopped.

"So you flirt with each other for the rest of your lives?" Dream was about to reply before the squid continued. "Wait, or is going on dates applied to it? Are giving gifts used way more then?"

"Ink, do you even like either of those?" Dream finally asked with a raised brow.

"Hardly neither!" Ink jumped up from the furniture. "I think it's not really needed! Who'd want to do that everyday? I mean, you got a crush, yes, but won't the feelings not last much longer once you have them? Who would act like a hopeless romantic or someone who wants to make monsters for a living?"

"You don't have to do it everyday, but I think I know what's going on, Ink." Dream threw the clipboard away, pulling the protector back to the couch with a comforting smile.

"There was something wrong with me?"

"Dear, no, you're just aroace."

"What?"
