We kept driving and passed some of the gorgeous houses you only see in magazines they looked like small mansions but they were scattered and surrounded by tall fences and trimmed hedges " these people sure like their privacy. What do you think lily?" lily barked tail wagging excited to explore our new home. However we didn't stop we kept driving til we hit the very last house on the left it wasn't as extravagant as the other house was it was still nice.

It looked more like a lodge unlike the other more modern looking houses. I pulled up next to johns car and let lily out. "hello miss, dinner will be ready shortly. Should I take your bags?" a gentleman bowed in front my aunt and snapped his finger a two more servants came out and started unpacking my bags from my car. "jam jam I didn't know you had servants. Are you rich or something" she just laughed "did your mom not tell you? No were not rich but these guys refuse to leave after our great grandfather died. Now he was rich but over the years he spent all his money to build up our little town. I keep telling them they don't have to stay but this is their home as much as it is mine. I let them do as they please. Come I'll show you around I can imagine you want to freshen up. I know I do." She drapes her arm over my shoulder and gives me the grand tour of the house.

Three bathrooms and six bedrooms later aunt Judy leaves me at my room my stuff already there waiting for me to unpack. Lily comes strolling in and lays down on the massive dog bed in the corner. I walk up to the window and look around our back yard, which held a small groan house and a pool a grill and a hammock. It was all perfect I don't understand why mother never mentioned she use to live here, I wonder why she left.

Once I was unpacked and showered I followed my nose to the best thing I ever smelled. "what's for dinner?" aunt Judy was already at the table talking to John " hey honey how are you settling in? And well dinner is always a mystery" I took my seat and looked around everything looked so fragile and expensive, this table was massive it could easily seat ten people. "I'm all unpacked, lily seems to like it here. I like it too" I tried to give my aunt a smile but I couldn't I missed my family too much "its ok honey give it time. I miss them too" before she can say anything else the gentleman from earlier, aunt Judy said his name was Tim, came in "dinner is ready Judy" he held the door to the kitchen open as two ladies, Alexandra and Anne, came out with carts full of food. And another two guys, Jacob and Owen, came out with drinks.

Once everything was placed on the table the servants took their seat and started talking among themselves. "hey Caitlyn is there anything you like for breakfast?" I looked at Alexandra "um I normally just have coffee and a go wrap in the morning to eat on my way to school. But on days I'm off I like chocolate chips pancakes topped with fruits." Alexandra smiled as she neatly placed a napkin on her lap.

My stomach growled at the sight of all the food laid out on the table there was enough to feed a whole army. My attention was dragged away from the food when the Judy began tapping her cup with her knife " alright everyone before we begin this amazing dinner I have a few words to say. Caitlin I want to say welcome home and I hope you grow into the women I know I will become one day. I know your mother would be proud." Judy sat down and dabbed at her eyes with a napkin as John gently rubbed her back whispering in her ear. I piled my plate with a bit of everything to try. Alexandra leaned over sliding a basket of fresh bread rolls " try one of these I baked them myself. Owen made the veal and lamb chops.

Jacob made the salad and mashed potato all from his garden out back. And Anne is famous for her desserts we will have later so make sure you save some room" she laughs as Anne pokes her side "don't ruin the surprise Alexandra." Alexandra held her hand up in surrender " I didn't I was just telling her how Jacob has a garden out back. Although he looks big and muscular and intimidating he has a gentle side. Ow hey what was that for" she shoots Jacob with dagger eyes as he smirks taking a big bite of lamb. Everyone laughed as the begun to pass around the bread basket and gravy, piling food onto their plates. Soon everyone was talking about their day and telling jokes. I found it easy to sit and enjoy the light chatter around the table as I enjoyed the food on my own plate. Lily lay by my feet chewing happily on a bone Owen slide her way under the table, which didn't go unnoticed because Anne shook her head but remained silent.
