Hi everyone and Happy October. As you know for the spooky season we will be doing Halloween inspired one-shots counting us down to Halloween on the 31st. Be sure to like and comment because it helps. To start us off we have a play on the classic the Corpse Bride.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------(Y/N)'s POV
Priest: And don't come back until you learn your lines!
He yelled at me as he threw me out of the Everglot's house.
*Slam*
He forcibly closed and locked the door behind me. I picked myself up and hurried off to a place where I could clear my head. I made my way to the outskirts of town where a small bridge linked our sleepy bleak little town to the woods. Once there I looked upon the small river and reflected on tonight's disastrous rehearsal dinner. I enjoyed meeting Victoria, but the whole thing had me so terribly nervous.
(Y/N): Oh, Victoria I am sorry. I hope you don't think of me as a fool.
I said to myself.
(Y/N): This night couldn't get any worse.
Town crier: Hear ye, hear ye! Rehearsal in ruins as (l/n) boy causes chaos.
(Y/N): *sigh*
I pulled myself away from the bridge and walked into the woods until his cries had finally died out.
(Y/N): *sigh* It really should be all that difficult. It's just a few simple vows.
I paused for a moment before I tried my vows.
(Y/N): With this hand, I will take your wine. *sigh* No.
I continued walking.
(Y/N): With this hand, I will cup your...
I realized that the way I had my hands made it appear like I was gesturing to her breast.
(Y/N): Oh goodness no.
I pushed on further still trying to get it right. Maybe if I try a different line it will be better.
(Y/N): With this...with this...with this candle I will...I will...I will set your mother on fire.
I facepalmed as I recalled the accident earlier where I burned a small part of Mrs. Everglot's dress.
(Y/N): Oh it's no use.
I took out the ring and the small flower that Victoria had given me. I took a whiff of the flower's sweet scent that reminded me of Victoria. It filled me with confidence so I decided to try one more time.
(Y/N): With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way in darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.
As I said the last part of my vows I slide the ring onto a tree branch sticking out of the ground. The calm of the night was interrupted by a strong gust of wind and crows squawking above. As I looked I could see that all the crows were just resting on the tree branches staring at me.
*Cracking*
(Y/N): What?
The branch grabbed my arm tightly and pulled me to the ground hard. The crows started going crazy by squawking and flying around me. I was trying to pull away until it snapped. I fell backward and noticed the branch was still attached to my arm, however, as I got a better look it wasn't a branch it was bone. The human hand and arm were still gripping my arm so I shook it off. The ground where the arm came from started to crack and open. Someone started to crawl out and it looked like the person was wearing a wedding dress. She stood up and moved the veil away from her face.
