A day at home with my siblings

Todoroki POV

The next morning, I was up at a shockingly early hour. I lay in bed for a few more minutes when I realize sleep will not find me again. I sigh and throw off my blankets, I fold up me futon and place it back in the corner. I grab my book from beside the photo album and head downstairs. I sit down and curl up on the chair in the living room with my soft blanket and start reading. I'm coming to the end of "One step at a time", the book about Jackie and her service dog Harlow. This chapter is all about celebrating Harlow on her birthday. She got to go pick out a new toy at the pet store then they went to the doggie bakery to get her a special birthday treat. Then they took her out for frozen yogurt with fruit on top. Before this book I didn't even know dogs liked yogurt. When they get home there was a present waiting for Harlow. Jackie's parents told her to open it. After she ripped the wrapping paper, she saw a brand-new mesh vet for Harlow to wear during the hot summer mouths. Jackie immediately put it on Harlow before giving both her parents a big hug. The chapter finished with everyone singing to celebrate Harlow and all she does for Jackie. I close my book leaving the last chapter of the book for later.

I hear someone coming down the hall. When my brother turns to come into the living room, I see him walking quickly and smiling.

"Hey Sho, I didn't know you were awake. Since Fuyumi is still asleep, I was thinking of making breakfast for her. Do you want to help?" He asks.

"Sure," I replied leaving the warmth of my blanket to follow me brother into the kitchen.

Natsuo and I start to make one of our moms' best recipes, a fruit sandwich. This is probably Fuyumi's' favourite breakfast, we don't make it that often but when we do it never fails to put a smile on Fuyumi's face. Natsuo grabs the fresh milk bread he bought yesterday while I start cutting fruits. I cut up one kiwi before starting on the strawberries. As I was cutting the strawberries, I would sneak a couple for myself while Natsuo had his back turned. I was just about to sneak another when Natsuo turned around.

"Thief!!" he smiles and points at me.

I smirk at him before putting the piece of strawberry in my mouth.

"How many strawberries did you eat?" he asks looking at the pile in front of me.

"I only had 9 or 10 pieces," I say in defence.

"Now I know where all the strawberry go," he huffs,"just save some for the sandwich okay".

"Okay," I say stealing another strawberry.

Once we are done preparing the sandwiches, we wait for Fuyumi in the living room. As we hear Fuyumi's door, we get up and go the kitchen. When we get to the kitchen Fuyumi is already there, she turns around and sees us.

"Did you two do this?" She asks.

"Of course, we did. You do so much for us, it was only fitting we do something for you in return," Natsuo smiles.

Fuyumi smiles and walks over to us and brings us both into a big hug.

"Thank you two, this means a lot," she says letting us go.

"Anything for the best sister in the world," I say.

After a great breakfast with my two wonderful siblings, Fuyumi left to go visit friends and Natsuo left to go see his girlfriend.

I was now left alone in the house; I decide to go check if there are any new emails from Midoriya. I turn on the computer and open the mail, to my surprise there was one waiting for me and it was very sweet.

Hey, sorry if I don't reply to any of your emails today, I am going to

give a service dog to there forever family today! I hope you can

understand. I also took a video of some of the things I do to

help my dad. I hope you enjoy. ☺️

I smile. He could have just did it without telling me, but he didn't. I quickly sent a reply back

I watch the video in complete amazement. One of the dogs was alerting the trainer that they were scratching at their arms. Another one was helping someone get up, and another was picking something up with their mouth. After the video ended, I turn off the computer and went back to my room. Since Natsuo already left I change my own bandages but I'm okay with that because I have done it countless times before. I went into my bathroom where I keep my bandages, I also grab some burn cream and rubbing alcohol. I start with my right arm. The burns didn't hurt as much as yesterday, I learned over the years I heal faster than others when it comes to burns. Also, no matter how bad the burn I never seem to scar. I reapply the burn cream and cover it with a fresh bandage then I move onto my left arm. After both my arms were rewrapped, I finish "One step at a time", before I start reading it from the beginning again.

Around lunch time Fuyumi came home. I could hear her approach my room before my door slides open.

"Hey, I'm back, have you eaten lunch yet?" She asks.

"No, I have been up here since you two left," I reply.

"Okay, I'll go make some lunch," she smiles.

"I will meet you down there after this chapter," I say looking down at my book.

Fuyumi closes my door, and I return to my book. After my chapter I put my bookmark in and head downstairs. Fuyumi warms up some leftovers from last night's dinner. While we eat, we talk about school. Both about my upcoming first day at U.A and about her elementary school.

"Hey Shoto, after lunch could you help me mark some spelling tests?" Fuyumi asks.

"Sure," I reply.

I like helping her mark things. It's kind of my way of repaying her for everything she does for me. After lunch I clean the table while Fuyumi went to grab the work from her bag. When she came back down, she sat in the chair on my left.

"Fuyumi, could you switch sides," I ask.

"Oh sorry, of course" she says moving on to my right side.

"So Shoto, is Midoriya bringing the dog to the school for just a visit or is it staying at the school all day?" She asks.

"Oh Benelli, yeah she is a service dog in training, so she is staying at the school all day for public access training," I answer with a surprise happiness in my voice.

"I see, are you going to help him train her?" Fuyumi questions.

"I don't think so. I think I'm just meeting her before school starts," I recall.

 We spent the remainder of the afternoon marking spelling tests and spending time together. Natsuo came home right before dinner time. He brought a bag of food that his girlfriend made for us to eat for dinner. We plated the already cooked dinner. My siblings enjoyed it while I pushed it around my plate, it had a weird texture I didn't like. After dinner I help clean up before going back up to my room. After a little more reading I start to yawn, so I decide to start my nighttime routine early. I use a wipe to get the oils off my face, then I brush my teeth. After changing into my pajamas, I lay out my futon and crawl under my blankets, an hour and a half earlier then I usually go to bed. I pull the blankets up to my shoulder, letting sleep take over before the second week but my first day at school. I cannot miss another day.
