Midoriya POV
Mercy's rusty colored ears were the first thing I saw when I wake up.
I hear my dad yell from outside my door, "Izuku are you up?"
"Yeah, I'm up." I yell back rolling over to give Mercy a morning hug.
"Good. Benelli needs a bath before her new family comes to pick her. Can you get it done before they come."
I get up instructing Mercy to move. Mercy jumps off my bed but instead of leaving she brings me my treat pouch. Mercy knows our routine better then I do these days.
"Are you telling me you want a snack."
She barks and spins.
"I'll take that as a yes."
I grab a low value treat from my bag and throw it at Mercy, she catches it in midair then leaves my room. I start to get up, I stretch to grab my phone from the nightstand, the screen comes to life telling me it was already five after nine. I get up and stumble over to my closet grabbing a pair of blue shorts and an old T-shirt I don't mind getting dirty. Just then I have an idea, I grab my phone and text Shoto asking if he would like to come and help clean Benelli. It only takes a few minutes to get a happy reply saying he is on his way. I smile and head out to the kitchen. My dad was at the stove making eggs and there was toast already done on a plate at the table.
"Hey dad, Shoto is coming to help me clear Benelli."
"Alright, just let me know if you boys need anything."
"Sounds good. After I eat, I'll go get the tub ready."
After breakfast I head to the kennels then towards the indoor training arena. Off to the side there is a small room with a standing dog tub and a grooming table. I grab a bottle of tearless shampoo and conditioner to do her face with. I also make sure to grab a towel for after. Suddenly, my phone buzzes in my pocket, I grab it and see it was from Shoto saying he was here. I head back into the kennels and see Shoto walking towards me with Mercy leading him. As usual, our loyal guardian is on watch.
"Hey, how's your foot feeling? Better?"
"Yeah, much better. Someone healed it with their quirk last night. Natsuo told me to still take it easy though. I have an old ankle brace on so it shouldn't cause me any pain."
"Sounds good, let me know if you need a break alright." I smile, "we still have to grab Benelli from the field. Want to join me?"
He nods. I smile and we walk side by side to the outdoor field where the dogs are doing morning training.
When we get to the field Shoto immediately used Benelli's hand sign for come and the small cholate lab came running.
"Not fair! She never comes when I call."
He smiles and shrugs before putting the leash on and leading her out of the field.
"Where are we taking her anyways?"
"Oh, you know that random door near the arena, its actually the room used to wash the dogs."
Todoroki follows me back to the bathing room. I close the door before Benelli can escape. We take off her collar and bandana. I grab the grooming loop from the tub and put it around her neck.
"Okay Benelli, time for a bath."
I use the grooming loop to try and guide Benelli into the bathtub but she absolute refused to get in the tub. In the end, it takes both Shoto and I working together five minutes to get her in the bath. I turn on the water and wait for it to warm up before showering Benelli's fluffy coat with water. After rinsing the shampoo out of her coat, I hand the hose to Shoto as I reach for the conditioner. Before I could do that Benelli shook all the water on to me and Shoto.
