Chapter 3

Alex pov

As I finished getting into my uniform I grabbed a cup from the break room and got some dirt from a potted plant on the table and finished it with some water from the bathroom and headed back to the front.

Alex: I have returned with your water, my lady. * jokingly bowed *

Lucinda: Wow, what a gentleman, and I love the uniform it definitely suits you. * smiles *

Alex: Thanks. I was inspired by my favorite anime, and so is my staff.

Lucinda: Nice and good news. I brought all the things I needed.

I looked on the table and saw many of my ingredients grouped up in different piles with each a single stone sitting on top of its own pile of herbs but none of them could purify the water so this will be fun.

Alex: Alright, then begin. Let's see what you have. * I smiled *

Lucinda: I can't wait to show you my talent. Maybe I'll become a Rune mage, too. * feeling confident *

Alex: We'll see.

And so I began watching her for hours going through each of the runes, and none of them purified the water. Each reacted differently. There were explosions, electrical shock,boiling, and even freezing it. Even some of the customers watched for a bit before leaving. It was now closing time, and I had changed back into my clothes, locked up, and we made our way back home.

Alex: * walking beside her seeing her pout* Come on, Lucinda, it wasn't that bad. At least you learned some Runecraft.

Lucinda: Yeah, but none of them did what I wanted, and why did I have to figure it out on my own?

Alex: It was the way I was taught and like you I got frustrated with my results too but thanks to that method I learned so many things that came out of not being able to purify the water.

Lucinda: I guess it helped a lot, didn't it? Who taught you that way?

Alex: My father did. I thank him every day for it. * filled with pride *

Lucinda: He must be a great man? * smiled*

Alex: Yeah, he taught me and my sister, and thanks to that, I was able to get into a good school.

Lucinda: Really, what school did you go to?

Alex: I went to Avalon High and College. Have you heard of them?

Lucinda pov

The moment he said Avalon High and College, I was shocked those are the most prestigious magical schools in the country. I've always wanted to go to those schools since I've seen them advertised on tv.

Lucinda: Wow, you seriously went there?!

Alex: Yeah, I was able to get in thanks to my family's Runecraft.

Lucinda: I wish I had something special talent like that. * looking down *

Alex: Are you kidding? I would have loved to be in a school like yours.

Lucinda: What? Why?

Alex: Trust me, if you think that bullies and snobby cheerleaders were bad, you've never seen them. How bad they can get with magic.

Lucinda: So it's a recipe for disaster.

Alex: Yep. By the way, how are you feeling now since the breakup?

I thought about my life with Ivan before and there were some moments we yelled, laughed and even made up but I haven't thought about him much since I met Alex and come to think of it I never seen or heard anything about his love life.

Lucinda: * blushing * Alex, do you have someone special in your life?

Alex: No, I was too busy when I was in school, and the women there were too much to deal with.

Lucinda: Oh really.

Alex: * he smiled * Should I assume that you're asking me out on a date?

Lucinda: * blushes in embarrassment * i-if you want.

Alex: I would be honored to date someone like you. * he smiled *

I moved in and kissed him, and this kiss was different. It wasn't like a playful kiss Ivan used. This one truly felt like a love filled kiss. I looked to see his face partly flushed, and it was adorable.

Lucinda: So, was that your first kiss?

Alex: Yes, and it was great, lucinda.

Alex pov

It's official. I have a girlfriend now, which is very new for me, but I'm willing to give my new relationship my full attention and hope for the best. As we returned to my house, I started cooking dinner as lucinda was taking a shower, so I decided to call up my folks to tell them of my relationship status *

Mom: (Hello sweetie, how are you?)

Alex: I'm alright, mom. I have some good news for you.

Mom: (Oh really, do tell. * sounds excited *)

Alex: Well…I found myself a girlfriend. * feeling embarrassed *

Mom: (Oh, my baby boy finally found someone! I was worried you'd live your life like a hermit.)

Alex: Did Sarah tell you that?

Mom: (She may have mentioned it.)

Alex: Of course she would. You can tell her I finally found someone so she can stop saying that.

Mom: (Ok, sweetie, I'll tell your father and sister the news. I'll talk to you later.)

Alex: Ok, mom, I love you.

Mom: (Love you too)

As I hung up, Lucinda came in a white tank top and pink shorts and hugged me from behind.

Lucinda: Who was that sweetie?

Alex: Oh, I just called my mom and told her about us. * I smiled *

Lucinda: Oh, since we're official, when will I meet them?

Alex: They are normally busy, but they'll tell us when they have time.

Lucinda: Good, I can't wait.

She kissed me again like last time and thought to myself what the future will have in store for us.
