Alex pov
It was morning at 10:00 am. I was beginning to stir awake. My mind knew it was time to get up but my body didn't want to try to find the one reason to stay in bed until both my mind and body noticed…Lucinda wasn't in the bed with us. I wondered where she was until a delightful smell passed my nose. Which means she's cooking breakfast.
Alex: * taking in a long, delightful smell* Bacon and eggs with toast. * licking my lips*
I started getting up. My pajamas were a regular white t-shirt with green flannel pattern pants. As I made my way out of our bedroom, I noticed that the furniture was already up along with some of our magic equipment for home.
Alex: Huh, Lucinda must have used her magic to set everything up while I was asleep.
Even the bed me and Lucinda slept on was just the mattress that wasn't even set up yet. Which shows I was a very heavy sleeper. As I finally reached the kitchen, I saw Lucinda wearing a white tank top and black sports shorts. Just seeing her like that takes my breath away. So I made my presence known.
Alex: Morning Lucy! * getting behind her gently holding her*
Lucinda: Morning babe, you are just in time for breakfast. * giggles *
Alex: I saw you put our stuff up without me.
Lucinda: I'm sorry. I thought I'd let you sleep a little longer. But we still need to do the runes around the house.
Alex: Great, we can do it at noon.
Lucinda: Oh, and I got a call from the movers about our store's equipment.
Alex: What did they say?
Lucinda: They have successfully set everything up, and we are ready to open at any time, but we still need a name for it. It needs something that says a lot about us.
Alex: Something that we both will be ok with.
We thought it over as she finished cooking until she thought of an idea.
Lucinda: How about the Wishing Rune? I know it isn't that clever, and it's just names from our stores but…
Alex: Actually I like it. It's simple and short, just perfect for us.
We embraced, and we kissed until we heard a knocking at the door.
Alex: And there goes our moment. * I joked *
Lucinda: Don't worry, there will be plenty of moments later, but first we should see who it is. * smiling *
Alex: Yeah ok let's go.
We went to the front door and opened to see a man dressed in a light gray hoodie with dark gray and black stripes, light gray pants, and black shoes. His black hair was long enough that his bangs covered his right eye. Fortunately, the other half of his face was clear, showing a single blue eye. I was especially caught off guard by his voice.
???: Hello and good morning. My name is Zane, and I'm with the neighborhood watch and….
Lucinda: Wait, Zane, you're here too?
Zane: I'm sorry, but do I know you? * frustrated from being interrupted *
Alex: Lucinda, do you know him?
Lucinda: Yeah, that's Zane Garroth's younger brother.
Alex: * surprised * For real?
Zane: Oh great, another one of my brother's friends. How many more am I going to have to deal with?
Alex: Well, it's nice to meet you. I'm
Zane: Don't care. I'm here to say I'm with the neighborhood watch, and since you know my brother now, I regret coming here.
Alex: Geez, relax.
Lucinda: Why are you with the neighborhood watch anyway? You don't have many people skills.
Zane: Can't I look out for my neighborhood? Now if you don't mind I have a lot of houses to go and if you have any problems go to someone else!
He laughed maniacally like those old cartoon villains as he left.
Alex: Well, he certainly was.
Lucinda: A jerk? Yeah, I can't believe he's head of the neighborhood watch. * shutting the door*
Alex: Yeah, I didn't know Garroth had a brother like that. Why didn't you tell me?
Lucinda: I didn't know. Cadenza only told me where Aphmau and the others moved to. I wasn't expecting to see Zane here as well.
I let out a small laugh.
Alex: It's ok. After we finish our breakfast, we get started on the runes, and they'll be a surprise.
Lucinda: I can't wait to see what it could be.
Lucinda pov
After Alex and I finished our breakfast, we got dressed warmly when we saw it was snowing outside and headed out, and started setting up the runes on the house. I was still new at it, so some of them weren't working. Alex had to come over and help me fix them up. After two hours and a half, we managed to set the runes just like his cottage. Alex brought me to the sidewalk.
Alex: Are you ready for the surprise?
Lucinda: I'm ready.
He clapped his hands, and the runes on the edges of our roof, windows , garage, and door all began to glow as bright as Christmas lights, making it beautiful. *I was happily surprised *
Lucinda: Oh my Irene babe, it's beautiful! I love it!
Alex: I'm glad you like it. I wanted to make our first Christmas together special.
Lucinda: * giggles * And you're on the right track. Now, let's take a selfie together to commemorate it.
Alex: Sounds good.
We both turned away from our house and started to set ourselves up. Alex was behind me wrapping his arms making me feel warm and safe in his arms while I aligned my phone with us and the house and as soon as I saw the perfect position on my phone screen I took our first picture together in front of our new home close to Christmas. We were about to go back inside until…
Kawaii~chan: Alex~kun, lucinda~chan!!!
Kawaii~chan came running to us, pulling Aphmau with her excitedly.
Alex: Hey Kawaii~chan. What's up?
Kawaii~chan: Kawaii~chan needs your help!
Lucinda: Help with what?
Aphmau answered for her.
Aphmau: Present shopping.
We could only say.
Alex: What?
Lucinda: What?
