Chapter 17

3rd pov 

A week had passed since the early Christmas party leading up to and finally reached Christmas Eve. During the week, Alex and Lucinda worked at the Wishing Rune and gathered groceries to prepare for Christmas dinner with both of their families currently at their home residence. It was 6:00 pm and their families would be arriving in an hour after arriving at the airport. Alex was still in his pj's cooking dinner, which consisted of medium cooked steaks, shrimp scampi, steak fries, and a fruit salad. 

Alex: * taking in the smell of the food* Ahhh, dinner is smelling better and better.

Soon, he hears Lucinda's voice behind him.

Lucinda: I'll say it smells fantastic. 

He turned around, and his eyes widened and blushed across his face when he saw her. She was wearing a dark blue knitted style long sleeved sweater dress that hugged her body, going down to her thighs while also wearing black thigh-high stockings she even did her hair in a high ponytail. She does a twirl to show Alex every angle. 

Lucinda: So how do I look?

Alex: You look…stunning. 

Lucinda: * giggled * Thanks, babe, now how about I watch the food while you change. * walked up to Alex* and don't worry, I'll keep an eye on everything while you change.

Alex nodded his head and went to change. It only took three minutes. He wore a black t-shirt with a green rune circle on the front, a pair of black cargo pants, and a pair of white socks. Thirty minutes passed when the doorbell rang.

Lucinda: Are they here already? It's not even 7:00 yet.

Alex: Maybe their flights got here earlier than expected. * finished placing the food in containers to keep warm * 

Lucinda: Let's go see who it is. Are you nervous?

Alex: A little, but don't worry. I believe things will be alright. * holding her hands*.

The two headed to the front door to answer the first arrivals.

Lucinda pov 

Me being nervous is an understatement. It's either going to be Alex's parents who I'm meeting for the first time or my parents who they are going to meet Alex for the first time, especially my mother who knows what she'll say when she finally meets him but for now I took a deep breath and opened the door with Alex beside me. When I opened the door in front of me, we were Alex's family. I recognized some of the pictures he showed me. Alex's father was the tallest of everyone he has the same messy black hair as Alex but his eyes were an amber color he wore a thick brown jacket with a furred collar and pair of blue jeans with brown boots and at the top where his zipper is undone I can see a little of his light blue shirt clear to see he isn't afraid to be casual.

 Alex's mother was beautiful she had auburn colored hair done in a braid over her shoulder her eyes are the same green as Alex's and her way of dress is the opposite of her husband's wearing a dark blue business dress with a fabulous pair of light blue high heels and lastly was Alex's sister Sarah her hair was the same color as her mother while her eyes is the same as her father her hair is long and was done in a basic ponytail her clothes consisted of a gray hoodie and sweatpants with tennis shoes though I noticed that they both had royal blue letters surrounded by a golden outline as well as a coat of arms. It was the letters A.U, meaning it was Avalon University, the same Alex went to.

Alex: Mom,Dad Sarah, welcome to our home. Please come in!

Alex went to give his family a big group hug, and I couldn't help but smile at the reunion as we led everyone inside. 

Alex's Mother: Thank you, sweetie. How is everything going? 

Alex: Great, and now you can finally meet Lucinda, my girlfriend. 

He pulled me close next to him, putting his arm around my hip.

Alex's Father: So this is the famous lucinda we heard so much about.

Sarah: Yeah, we heard a lot from Alex. Thanks for promoting my brother from a lonely hermit, *laughed*.

Alex gave his sister a deadpan look, and I couldn't help but laugh. 

Lucinda: It's not a problem. I've been happy since we started dating, and it's finally a pleasure to meet you, Mr and Mrs Greenleaf. 

Alex's mother: No need to be so formal you can use first names. My name is Emmy. 

Alex's father: And you can call me Al, and what is your last name? We've heard a lot about you except that.

Alex: Yeah, after dating a while, you never told me what your last name is.

I couldn't help but feel embarrassed due to the fact I didn't like my last name much and remembering when I told it to Katelyn and she fell laughing, it didn't help. 

Lucinda: Sorry, it's rather…embarrassing.

Alex: Oh, come on, it can't be that bad.

Everyone was looking at me. I felt the embarrassment of my last name come back, but I relaxed myself by taking a deep breath and told them.

Lucinda: My last name is… Spellman. * cheeks turning red*

Things were quiet for quite a couple of seconds until Alex broke the silence. 

Alex: Spellman, is it?

Lucinda: * sighs * Yes, I know my name is very on the nose about me. Go ahead every and let out any chuckles you have.

Alex: Why would we laugh about your last name, Besides, it's cute. 

Lucinda: Huh? Really? 

Emmy: Of course, dear, you're not the only one who gets embarrassed by their names like two certain men in my life. Right Al,Alex?

Emmy smiled while Alex and Al looked just as embarrassed as I was, which made me smile, knowing now I'm not alone in being embarrassed. 

Lucinda: * smiling * So what is embarrassing about their names? 

Emmy: Well, their names are actually shortened to Al and Alex their full names are actually Alphonse and Alexander.

Seeing my boyfriends face match his father's turning red, I couldn't help but giggle and tease him a little. 

Lucinda: My, don't you have a regal name.

Alex took in a deep breath and then clapped his hands together. 

Alex: OK! How about you guys relax in the living room and relax until our final two guests arrive. 

Emmy: Alright, Alex, come on, Al, let's see if we find some good Christmas movies. 

She kissed Alex on the cheek as the both of them headed to the living room with Sarah following behind but stopped and looked at us as she smiled. 

Sarah: Hey Alex, at least I know now that you're into the busty types! * she teased*

Me and I both turned red from Sarah, blurring that out.

Alex: Just go in!

She went in as she laughed her way to the living room. 

Alex: * sighed * Sorry about her. I'm guessing now that we're dating, she's going to find new ways to tease not only me but you as well.

Lucinda: It's ok Alex at least your family likes me. * smiling * 

Alex: Yeah, and how about you go talk to them while I wait for your parents at the door. 

Lucinda: You sure?

Alex: Yeah, I want you to get to know them, and I'll call you when your folks get here.

Lucinda: Thanks, babe. 

I gave Alex a quick kiss on the lips as I went to the living room with his family.
