Chapter 12

Alex pov

Four days later 

After the events with Aphmau's cat-tastrophe me and Lucinda had a couple of days before the weekend to finally do our job at the wishing rune and through those three days our business was finally attracting customers the numbers were still small but we are steadily increasing. When the weekend finally came, we were glad how well the store did. Currently, we were on the couch covered up watching tv. I was laid up against the couches' right arm rest while Lucinda snuggled on top of me. We were perfectly snug on the couch and didn't want to move until we saw Aphmau pass by and put something inside our mailbox and went back.

Alex: Looks like Aphmau left something for us.

Lucinda: Can you go check, please? I'm too comfortable to move. 

Alex: * I smiled * Really, babe?

Lucinda then used a girl's devastating weapon…the puppy dog eyes. It's a tactic I'm all too familiar with, especially when my sister Sarah used it against me, and I'm always unable to say no, and now my own girlfriend is using it.

Alex: * I sighed in defeat * Ok Lucy, you stay warm while I get our mail.

Lucinda: * giggles * Thanks, babe.

I kissed and started gently moving her off me and placing her back on the couch. I put on my slippers and robe and went out to the mailbox and looked to see a single red envelope inside and hurried back inside. 

Lucinda: What is it?

Alex: Well, let's see.

I opened it and pulled it out to read it.

Alex: It's an invitation.

Lucinda: Oh? What's the occasion? 

Alex: It says it's a mix of housewarming and an early Christmas party since it's in season. 

Lucinda: * stood up* What time is it?

Alex: It's at 7:30 pm and ends at midnight. No gift is required.

Lucinda: * giggles * Well, then we better get prepared. 

We went to our room to pick out what outfit we would wear to Aphmau's party. 

Lucinda: What do you think I should go with?

Alex: I would think something casual and nothing too heavy layered. 

Lucinda: How about my raspberry long sleeved shirt with the white skirt? I still remember that blush I gave you. * smirked as she teased*

Alex: Only if you wear some pants underneath with appropriate shoes.

Lucinda: * giggles * Fair now for you to get a new style.

Alex: What's wrong with what I have?

Lucinda: Nothing, but I think a little variety is in order. 

I thought about it and looked at my wardrobe and saw all my outfits are all the same with the exception of my night clothes. 

Alex: Yeah, you're right. 

Lucinda: Don't worry, babe. I have you covered. 

She grabbed her staff and shot a ball of light at me and was enveloped with a flash as soon as the flash died down I looked myself over and was surprised to see I was wearing what I could assume is a more modern version of my mage robes I was wearing a blue jacket with a furred collar over a dark shirt emblazoned with a blue rune, as well as black pants and black sneakers with white X's on the tongues.
