Steve, Dustin, and Tk look at each other all having the same idea. This looked a lot like the gate hopper described the year prior. The group walked back down the stairs wanting absolutely nothing to do with whatever they were doing there.
"I don't understand. You've seen this before?" robin questions.
"Not exactly," Steve replies.
"Then what, exactly?" she asks.
" He means we've never seen it in person before. We've only heard about it" Tk informs.
"All you need to know is it's bad. like, end of the human race as we know it bad" Dustin said.
"And you know about this?" Robin questioned again.
"um, steve? where's your Russian friend?" Erica speaks up. they look to where they had left the man to find that spot empty. then an alarm starts blaring along with a flashing red light.
Steve opens the door to look outside, Tk follows him. only to see a group of Russian commies heading their way. they quickly rush back up the stairs to the room with the laser.
When they got there the people that were working on the laser looked at them. but the group paid them no mind as they ran straight for the laser, which was a dead end.
not having any choice they had to turn back, steve shoved a Russian out of the way, pushing anything in the Russian's way so it would slow them down. The group ended up in a back room, the Russians hot on their tail. Luckily Steve was able to get the door shut in time so he didn't get in.
Steve and Tk were holding the door shut, Tk could feel multiple fists banging on the door trying to get in. Robin took notice of them struggling and went to help hold the door.
Erica had found a vent to crawl through and called Dustin over. Once he was up there he was calling for the three of them to come on.
"go! just get out of here!" Steve shouted.
"Dustin! take care of Erica for me, please!" Tk added as he threw his backpack towards him, which he caught. He already lost one thing tonight he wasn't going to lose another.
"You need to go with them, cowboy!" Steve told him.
"no! yall need my help, so I'm going to help!" Tk stated. Steve gave up realizing that it was hopeless to argue with him.
Dustin was still telling them to come with them but Steve told him to go get help, finally with some reluctance Dustin left through the vent. just in time too because as soon as he left the Russians came bursting through the door, causing the three of them to be thrown to the ground.
they come in guns aimed right at them, the trio immediately put their hands in the air claiming surrender. At that moment Tk deeply wished to be anywhere else.
