Almost ready?" I call to Kordelia who is still in the bathroom getting dressed. I think back to P.E. in freshman year. She had always taken longer to change than me. I was a fast changer. I had been then and I still am now. I don't care so much about my reflection. Maybe it's because of what Eeli says. He thinks I look beautiful all the time, no matter what I am wearing. Averie says the same of Kordelia but she doesn't really listen. I don't mind though. She makes me look cooler. I am hanging out with the prettiest girl on the block.
"Almost!" Came the reply. She steps out of the bathroom in a summer dress with her hair all done up in a braid and some sparkly gold eyeshadow on her eyes. She is wearing her bright yellow converse type sneakers that match the yellow daisies on her dress.
I have to admit, I looked pretty ok today too. I am also wearing a summer dress though mine has more blues and pinks. My long hair is in a pretty braid down my back, courtesy of Kordelia, and my lacy flats make my feet look marvelous. I am proud of myself. Looking good for my first day in the city of love with Eeli.
"So what was that Eeli thing about," she asks, sitting back on her unmade bed. Carefully, as not to ruin my made one, I sit down too.
"Oh nothing really, he just forgot to put pants on and then nearly lost his underwear." I respond. I add in a smile. Kordelia's eyes widen. "Wo, wo, wo, I said almost," I tell her, calming her down just a bit. She laughs realizing that it's ok to and I giggle along with her.
"Eeli," she says the way two girls say "boys" when a male does something crazy. I nod.
"I know. Sometimes he is so crazy..." Kordelia stops me there holding up her hand.
"Wait sometimes?" She says, raising her eyebrows. I smile knowingly. But at the same time I feel bad for him. Not being there to defend himself.
"Yes sometimes!" I exclaim taking the offense for him. "You haven't seen him when he and I are alone. And before we were together he was a lot more normal. Well, as normal as a boy like him can get." She raises her eyebrows again but I shrug them off, standing up and running my hand along my comforter to flatten out the creases my butt made. Once I am satisfied I walke over to the tv desk and grab the keys, tossing them to Kordelia.
"In the mood for exploring?" I ask, already knowing the answer. We've been saving for this trip for forever. Of course she's ready.
She nodd enthusiastically. "Very."
