By the time we got to our destination it was 6:00. Eeli and Avory finally took off our blindfolds just as we were beginning to get hungry. We were at a one day restaurant, on the green of the Eiffel Tower. I wasn't surprised. I had, after all been expecting this of the boys.
"Monsieur and Mademoiselle Melanston?" asked one of the French women, walking over to us.
I blushed and looked at Eeli.
"What?" he whispered, "this was supposed to be for married couples only. We had to do it."
I smiled and him and kissed his cheek.
"I don't mind," I told him. Then I turned to the waitress. "Yes," I said. "And this is."
"Monsieur and Mademoiselle Cofey I presume," she said, cutting me off. Kordelia turned to Avory who blushed again and looked down at the ground. She laughed.
"You presumed right," she told the waitress. Avory smiled then, slowly, raised his head.
"Right this way please," the waitress called, already a few steps ahead of us, even in her high heels.
She sat us down at a table, told us our meal would be ready soon, and walked away.
"Omg!" I said, the excitement of being by the Eiffel Tower finally washing over me. "I can't believe we are at the Eiffel Tower. With my boyfriend. And my best friend. It just..."
"Doesn't seem real?" Kordelia asked, cutting me off.
"Yeh," I said, settling back into my seat. Eeli reached fort hand under the table. I grabbed it and held on tight.
"Thank you," I said, "what can I do for you?"
"Kiss me," he said, and I did. When I pulled back, I looked at his face. It was shimmering in the glow of the candles. I turned and sat back down in my seat. Wow, I thought, I could do that all night.
The others were blushing, despite the fact it was us who had kissed, not them. Avory was looking at Kordelia's lips.
"Oh come on Avory," I said, "I know you want to." He blushed brighter and put his head down.
"Want to what?" Kordelia asked, totally unaware of what he had been looking at.
I puckered my lips.
"Oh!" She exclaimed. She turned to her date, lifted his chin with her finger and planted her lips firmly on his.
"I love you," she whispered to him as she pulled away.
"Oh don't stop on account of me," a voice called from behind us. I turned around. It was a server carrying a tray of food. She set down a long loaf of bread with a platter of cheeses and meats in the middle of the table. Then she handed us each our individual meals. We each got a glass of cider, the rest of which was left in the bottle and placed in the middle of the table. We also got a platter of food. It had corn in the cob, a bit of ham, and a bright colorful salad.
"Call me over when your ready for desert," she called and walked off, leaving the table in silence as we all began to eat.
