"Hey guys we're..." I pause seeing Kordelia and Avory's lips are preoccupied and not available for talking.
Avory notices us first, pulling back from the kiss immediately and blushing as red as a red rose. Confused at the abrupt stop and the blush, Kordelia turns around to see what is wrong. Seeing us, she immediately blushes just as red as her boyfriend and hides her face in Avory's chest, only slowly raising her head to look at us.
"Ah, we were just..." she tries to explain.
"Showing our love for each other," Avory finishes, regaining his cool.
"Whatever you say, coffee cake," Eeli says, employing Avory's nickname. Avory's last name is Cofey said coffee so sometimes, on occasion, we call him coffee cake.
"So what's next?" I ask, diverting the subject from my friend's love sharing with her boyfriend.
"Nap time!" Eeli said, as if he has been planning this all along. Kordelia and I share a suspicious look.
"And then you guys can get ready for our date!" Avory adds. Eeli wacks him.
"That was supposed to be a secret," he says.
"What that you were taking us on a date?" Kordelia asks.
"Whatever," I add.
"So...back to the hotel?" Kordelia asks looking back to Avory. He smiles at her and nods.
"Good with me."
"Good with me too, so long as it's back to our room," Eeli adds.
"Eeli!" I exclaim, jokingly.
"Kidding, kidding," he replies, holding his hands up to surrender.
"I wouldn't mind a bit of a rest before the big night tonight," Kordelia admits. "I want to be in my best mood, and that mood is rested."
"Unless she's been woken up," I adds, "better set an alarm, cause I'm not taking that risk again."
"Again?" Avory asks.
"Yeh, the lady time I woke her up from her beauty sleep, she slapped me in the face and still went on snoring."
"Snoring?" Avory asks, he almost seems worried for the future. Nobody wants a wife who snores.
"Yep, like a monster," I reply, over exaggerating.
"Oh come on Lily, it's not that bad." Kordelia bumps me in the arm as if to say, stop the conversation.
"I guess not," I say, trailing off. I love teasing my friend but when she is seriously asking me to stop, I pay attention. And she does the same for me. Most of the time anyway.
"So, what times the date?" I ask, striking a new conversation as we near the cars.
"It's not a date," Eeli respond, still trying to cover up Avory's slip up. "Let's call it an appointment."
"Got it," I grin, opening the car door and jumping in.
"Soooo..." Kordelia prompts.
"Well pick you up at five," Avory responds, jumping into his car and starting the ignition. I start up the ignition too and drive away, cradling my new clothes on my lap, my necklace on my neck, and the taste of fresh red strawberry kisses on my mouth.
