"Omg I can't wait!" I said. slipping on my new shoes. It was 4:30 already and both Kordelia and I wanted to look our best. This wasn't actually all that hard with the new clothes the boys had bought for us but nevertheless we wanted all the time we could get to get ready. I had already showered and Kordelia was in the shower now, just turning on the water.
"I know right?" Kordelia said as I walked into the bathroom and started brushing out my hair in front of the mirror. I was close with Kordelia so I didn't worry about seeing her naked, especially with a shower curtain covering her body.
"You got a pimple there Lily," Kordelia said, popping her head out from behind the shower curtain. I grabbed my concealer and covered it up.
"Any more blemishes you would care to point out?" I asked jokingly as she popped back into the shower and began to scrub her body.
"Nope," she said cheerfully, humming another country song that I didn't know.
"You, with your words like knives and swords and weapons that you use against me," I began to sing. Kordelia started to join in, her other country song left behind in the dust.
"You, have knocked me off my feet again, got me feeling like I'm nothing," she sung. I could practically see her holding the shampoo bottle up to her mouth as a microphone. I grabbed my hairbrush.
"You with your voice like nails on a chalkboard calling me out when I'm wounded you, pickin on the weaker man..." we sung together at the top of our lungs. Kordelia turned off the water. I grabbed a towel and threw it to her expertly as we carried on singing.
"And you can take me down with just one single blow, but you don't know what you don't know," I stopped, my rabbit like ears hearing someone on the outside of the hotel door.
"Some day!!!" Kordelia sang loud as both the boys burst through the door. I jumped in front of her, protecting her from their eyes. Luckily she still had her towel on cause my body didn't cover much. She stopped singing, staring at them, completely embarrassed. Avory turned so red I thought he would turn into a tomato. Kordelia blushed right back. It was almost as if that was there thing. Sort of like Hazel and Augustus's okay, okay. He blushed then she blushed. I thought it was hilarious so I started laughing. And then Eeli started laughing and then Avory started laughing. And finally, not quite so embarrassed, Kordelia laughed, and then snorted and then everyone laughed some more.
Finally I regained my composure. And then broke down laughing again. At this point we didn't even know what we were laughing at. Just that something was funny somewhere and it deserved people laughing at it. And so we laughed. And we laughed and we laughed until Kordelia almost dropped her towel and we figured we should probably stop laughing and get her dressed. Or at least us girls did. The boys kept laughing and rolling around on our beds, unmaking them as the did so. I grabbed Kordelia's hand, a bra, some underwear and her bag of new clothes and pulled her into the bathroom, closing the door behind us.
"What kind of weirdos are we dating?" I asked.
"I dunno," she replied, grabbing the clothes and pulling them on, "but I like them."
I sat on the toilet set as Kordelia finished getting dressed and doing her hair and makeup. When we emerged the boys had finished their laughing fit and we're searching for us. The sort of loomed like drunkards, lifting the bed skirt and looking under the bed or in the closet. Apparently they had been so busy laughing they hadn't seen us go into the bathroom.
Kordelia and I gave each other a look and we both stepped forward, looping an arm around our date and pushing them out the door being sure to "knock some sense into them" on the way out.
