"Niomi!" I say when her face shows up big on my computer. The boys have gone out for a bit of "girl free" time so we decided to skype our friend and tell her all about the trip so far.
"Lils, Lia, great to see you guys. Wish I could just leap out and hug you."
"You too," Lily says, wandering over from her suitcase where she was organizing her stuff. She is such a neat freak with some things.
"Sooo..." Niomi says, "how's it going with 33? And numberless," she winks an eye at us as she mentions the nicknames we gave the boys when we first told each other we liked them.
"Amazing," Lily says, sitting on the bed, "so amazing. They took us hot air ballooning."
"And painted our nails," I add. That had been funny. They had gotten the nail polish everywhere. It had supposedly been planned to be spa day. It had ended up as more of a disaster day. But it was fun anyway. Except for the cleaner ladies I suppose.
"Ha, I'd like to hear that story," Niomi says, laughing. "So what else?"
"Um I dunno if you have clearance to know that," Lily says jokingly as if she's a spy.
"Wait you mean you..." Niomi says, misunderstanding, "I mean you can make your own decisions but are you sure your that's the right one. What would your parents say?" She starts to get worried.
"No," I say. Blushing as red as a tomato. "Just kisses. Just kisses."
"Okay..." Niomi said suspiciously.
"Sooo... Niomi, how's it going with... Kegan." Niomi blushes and looks away from the camera at something. She moves her mouth for a bit and then stops. Something in the background moves.
"You said Kegan?" Niomi's boyfriend Kegan says, jumping in front of the screen.
"Kegan! These are my friends. Back off," Niomi says, but she isn't mad. She's laughing.
"Sorry babe," he says, turning around and giving her a big sloppy kiss. She blushes. He doesn't.
I hear the clicking of a door opening. It's sounds like it's coming from the screen so i don't worry about it.
"Is your mum home Mi? I thought you said she was gonna be out right now." I recall reading her email this morning asking us to skype her. She had said 10 am right?
"No," she says, she seems to be... laughing?
"Gotcha!" Avory says, wrapping his arms around me. But he isn't giving me a hug.
"Ah!" i scream. My voice is high pitched and awful. I hate the way i sound when i'm being tickled. "Avory stop. Stop it. Ah! No. No no." Lily starts laughing. Then Eeli attacks her. In seconds she is on the ground beside me squealing as well. I feel her kick my leg. It doesn't hurt though so i don't mind. I've probably kicked her too. I reach my hands up and push hard. Avory goes flying off of me. Well maybe not flying but pretty close. I reach down to help Lily get Eeli off and stop. Avory has his hands on me again. He spins me around and kisses me. Eeli follows suit, stopping his tickle attack to kiss Lily. I look at the screen. Niomi is still there. Kegan is kissing her too. She pulls back first.
"Ok guys," she says, still cuddling with Kegan. "Gotta go."
"Yeh, us too," Lily says and she clicks a button, ending the conversation.
