Chapter 15
THE NEXT MORNING EVERY LOOK, EVERY SOUND AND VOICE FELT SLOW AND DISORIENTED to June. It was most likely paranoia but she couldn't help that
She had just walked through the doors of the school on edge when Mason and Liam passed her
"Hey June" she turned to them at the greeting
"Are you coming to the bonfire tonight?" Liam asked her and she looked down and shook her head
"Uh, I was thinking about skipping it" she mumbled
Mason: "You're not skipping" she tilted her head confused
"Why not?"
"Because you're dating a guy on the lacrosse team" June and Liam both looked to each other with wide eyes and then to Mason who was confused "Oh wait. You actually are dating?" he started laughing "I was only kidding but oh my gosh. When did this happen?" They both turned a light shade of red
"The other day" she said quietly. She turns her head her eyes catching onto a figure down the hallway and she stared noticing it was the berserker
The berserker elbowed Kira who went flying and to the floor. June kicked it back as she turned to Kira but as she looked to check if her friend was okay the berserker jumped in front of her.
She didn't have a chance to react before it punched upwards, hitting her ribs
"So point is, you're not skipping"
"I..I don't think I can make it"
"You're coming" Mason stated Mason: "You have Liam now so you're going to help me find a nice guy, specifically a lacrosse player because statistically speaking.." she looked in front seeing the berserker walking up to them
The berserker elbowed Kira who went flying and to the floor. June kicked it back as she turned to Kira but as she looked to check if her friend was okay the berserker jumped in front of her.

"June?" Liam asked moving closer to her. He realised how her eyes shone in fear and how her heartbeat started to speed up. He didn't have a lot of control when he heard heartbeats but whenever he's around June he always finds it easier to listen to hers
She panted a bit nodding
"O-okay. I'll be there" she said before rushing off

She was sitting on the stairs during lunch trying to help herself think clearing whilst there was mostly no one in the school building when Liam and Scott came up to her
