(AN: Before I begin this, I updated the last two chapters to make them flow better when reading and increased the word count for the previous chapter by a couple hundred. That is all and do enjoy)
David sat on the dirt floor, eating in silence, while Lucario occasionally glanced at him while he ate, though David didn't think much of it as he ate his fill of berries.
While eating, though, he could feel a few stares from the other pokemon around the area, which was understandable since most of the pokemon here probably never expected a human to show up in their home.
Another reason would probably be that most of his upper and lower body was exposed for those to see, showing off his collection of scars.
Thinking about his scars and how he got them made him feel numb and empty inside, but before his mind lingered further on that subject, he pulled himself away from it and tried to think of something else.
"Lu..." Lucario mumbles to herself under her breath as she sees that grey aura wash over David for a brief moment before dying down, which worries her as she does not know what it means
"So Lucario, are you the only Lucario here, or are there others?" David asks Lucario as he tries to get his mind off his past problems
Lucario gets flustered for a second as she doesn't know why David started talking to her out of the blue. Considering the language barrier, she did not expect any interaction with the human.
"Haha, I know I can't understand pokemon, but you all seem to know English, so if you don't mind, can I ask a few yes or no questions about you then?" David asks as kind as he can
Recomposing herself, Lucario thinks it over before nodding to his question.
"Alright then, so are you the only Lucario here?" David asks, going back to his original question
Lucario shakes her head at that question since there are a few more Lucario that live here, although they tend to live on the surface rather than underground though was no way to tell the human that.
"Ah, I assume they would be your family members then?"
Again a nod from Lucario, although she sees that David's aura changes again, this time turning to express sadness at that information. However, his facial expression conveys happiness with a smile.
Lucario sees this and wants to say something; however, once again, the language barrier prevents her from asking, so she waits to see if there are any more questions from David.
However, after that question, he leaves it while looking down at the ground, seemingly as if in thought.
Lucario then returns to finish her breakfast with questions on her mind while a group of familiar-looking pokemon walk into the area.
Walking in to get their breakfast was none other than Cinderance, Arbok, and Blaziken, who were all led around by the same Lopunny that David had met before.
[Note: Translation of poke speech in progress, although David does not speak pokemon, it is required for this interaction]
"First stop for today; this is the eating area where a lot of our grass-type pokemon gather any berries they find out in the forest so that everyone can eat whenever they want to," Lopunny says as she leads everyone into the area.
"Well, girls, we will have to get used to eating berries from now on..." Rae says, a little crushed at the news of berries being their only food source, as her ears fall a little
Ari rolls her eyes as she moves on to the pile of berries and begins to pick out some berries that she would like, out of the berry pile, before looking around the place to find somewhere to sit with her group of friends.
