A/N: Get ready to delve into the deranged and horrifying depths of my mind

...

"Ladies and gentlemen, tonight I bring you another fan-favorite and a new era of fights for this arena in this match; we have Tire Iron David on one side of the area versus The Sandile twins!!!"

The sounds of cheering are heard, albeit muffled behind the reinforced iron doors that lead out into the underground arena. David was older now, holding an old, rusted tire iron that earned him his namesake when he was first introduced to the ring.

He was a rising star amongst the human competitors and had proven himself to be capable for the rest of the kids that were brought down here; despite only being 14 at the time, he was able to kick the ass of the occasional adult fighter that they pitted him against.

It was here that David was shown the cruelty of humans, how they pitted starved homeless children from around the continent against each other in deathmatches as some form of sick entertainment. The day David also began to enjoy this pastime was genuinely sickening.

He had to take his first life at the age of 10 against a skinny blonde-haired kid who was trying to survive, who didn't have anything to go back home to or no home at all.

He had to watch as he saw the life of that kid leave his eyes as he slowly choked out the kid before eventually finishing him off with the tire iron he now held.

With that, more lives were taken, and he gained popularity for his brutality against anyone, whether they be male or female, young or old. It didn't matter; he would climb to the top and pull through his fights.

David was a special case.

He had a place to call home, but that was never going to be considered his home, not when those demons back there would be grinning those fat and stupid grins all the while they were trying to figure out how to get more out of his body. "To pay them back for their kindness," they said.

Kindness was a myth to David at this point.

There was no way to get help, and no one would believe him as he was kept inside in a single half bathroom from where he had nothing to call his own. Clothes were torn off the kids he killed in the pits, and the food was given only when he was at risk of starving to death.

Today was a special day. It was the first time he had been able to fight a Pokemon and kill it.

The rumbling of the doors opening announces for David to step out into the sandy pit of the underground arena.

The light from the shoddily made fixtures blinds him temporarily as he walks out toward his half of the sand-filled arena. The fat pigs in the stadium scream and cry his name out as they watch from above, tucked safely behind the reinforced bars and sheets of metal to prevent any attacks from those in the arena.

The crowd roars, but David's ability to tune the noise out is almost second nature. He watches his opponents crawl into the arena with hisses and their handlers prodding them along with shock sticks.
