'This is going to be tough...'

Machamp tends to be a powerful Pokémon since, after all, they are a fighting type. They are viewed as the staple of fighting Pokémon due to the reputation they have built up in various tournaments and events involving strength.

Fighting one head-on would be suicide; however, defeating one using experience and having a calm head on his shoulders would be able to lead to victory...

Rage and fear began to build.

They started building up slowly in David, and he did not notice until his vision got blurry, at which point the outline of a Machoke stood in front of him, ready to fight.

Next, his ears start playing tricks on him. He hears the muffled uproar of a crowd as he finds stone walls surrounding him, which finally form a fighting pit between him and his opponent.

David starts to hyperventilate as more and more of this arena forms in his mind, causing his body to freeze as his mind races forward, trying to remember and forget this god-awful place all at the same time.

"Huh, would you look at that? I guess the muscles are only for show; I guess," The redhead says as she looks let down that David will not put up a fight.

To her, David was scared in place; however, to the Machamp, it could be seen that David was tensing up and was preparing to strike.

Crouching low and spreading its arms apart, the Machamp readies himself to take the brunt of whatever the human can throw at him and then deal back twice as much in retaliation.

David POV

"Alright, fighters, today we will bring forth a one-of-a-kind match for the first time. We are going to be fighting man and Pokemon!" A man's voice rings out in David's ears as his mind plays tricks on him

"Today, we take the best fighters from the Pokemon and human fighting rings to see who is the best amongst our like-minded groups."

David looked at his hands and saw the bloodied knuckles and bandages covering them. The slight stinging and tingling sensation vibrated through his hands as his body pumped with adrenaline.

This feeling was not unfamiliar to him as he had felt this way repeatedly, though this was the first time he would face off against a Pokemon.

The Machoke in front of him crouches low and spreads its arms out, knowing it will fight David until one of them breaks.

David tenses and then jumps forward and charges at the Machoke.

General Pov

David jumps at the Machamp, who takes David's charge with him, trying to grab the Pokemon and flip him over. However, the Machamp holds him in place before he can effectively get a hold of him to do anything, so taking charge of this, the Machamp tenses and begins to lift David into the air, attempting an off-brand German suplex.

The keyword would be 'attempt' as David uses the momentum of being brought up into the air to throw the Machoke away before running up and attempting to lay into him with a flurry of blows and punches.

The Machamp covers his face with his first pair of forearms before the second pair punches forward and gets David off him.

The blows sent by the Machamp are strong enough to break trees, yet David stands tall as his eyes show a bit of clarity in them. The feeling and memory of the underground arena fade slightly. Still, the rush of fighting a creature with immense power and strength behind its punches makes David recall that trading blows equally is impossible; after all, that one blow he took from the Pokemon had almost been enough to send him to his knees.

Still, the blow brought him to his senses, and he formulated a strategy to deal with the Machoke without being dealt too much damage himself.

So this time, he adjusts his stance and lets the Machamp get up before he moves to wrap around the legs of the Pokemon. After all, trying to fight a creature with four arms is just asking for a beat down since it can just hold onto his arms with only one pair and let the second pair wail into his defenseless body.

Getting some momentum, David slams the Machamp onto the ground and puts him into a choke hold.

What followed was a series of punches from one pair of arms and the second pair trying to choke him out. However, if there were one thing David could do, it would be taking a punch and getting choked out like a champ.

Eventually, David was able to choke out the Machamp with only minor bone bruises and active pain getting through the adrenaline in his body. The trainer of the Machamp calls back the Pokemon before glaring at David and stepping off to the side since getting on the wrong side of Mars would lead to more problems than it's worth.

"Well, color me impressed, big boy~ I didn't expect you, actually, to take out any Pokemon, but then again, you still have to fight the rest of us, so put on a good show for us," Mars says as she motions for one of the other grunts to have one of their Pokemon fight David next.

With a wicked gleam in its eyes and a glint on its blades, the scyther from before steps forward before it starts running its blades together in an attempt to appear threatening.

At most, forceful impacts from fists and kicks can only lead to discomfort or internal pain for David. However, a blade can end his life, so he will need more caution in this fight than in the previous one with the Machoke since he just went with wild attacks and little planning.

Since this one was going to be more painful than the last fight, David calmed his mind as best as possible; closing his eyes and taking breaths, he tried to calm himself. Only to open his eyes and see that the illusion of the arena is once again surrounding him with the invisible spectators shouting and cheering for the Pokemon in front of him.

After all, a Pokemon is inherently stronger than a human, and nine times out of ten, a human will get their ass kicked or killed by a Pokemon. David, however, was the one in ten that could defeat Pokemon, and this one in front of him was no different than the others he had faced till now.

...

Alright, quick question: should I change the pictures I use for the Pokemon? They are just the base photos for someone to know what they look like, though finding a more human-looking photo is possible. I tend not to focus on finding such pictures since it would take some time that I would not want to spend cause, after all, I am simply doing this for fun and to scratch a creative itch I have.
