Ducking, dodging, and sidestepping out of the Scyther's onslaught of slashes was tiring for David.
Even though his physique looked more like that of a hulking behemoth who knew only how to deliver powerful blows, his body was surprisingly quick and flexible as David had to fight against various Pokemon who had unnatural speed in some cases, which he could not face off against.
A Scyther is mainly based around speed, with its slashes and attacks being difficult to track if you aren't used to the speed it can create, and David could barely manage with his reaction speed and his instincts on any life-threatening danger.
Thus far, both Pokemon he had to face had no restraint in holding back and tried to kill him or, at the very least, cripple him for life.
Sidestepping another slash, David throws a punch to the Scyther's abdomen. The second issue, minus the knives for hands, would have to be the hard exoskeleton covering Syther's body, which would be difficult to cause significant damage to the Pokemon.
So David was forced to work with the greatest weapon he had ever wielded.
His fists.
Also, striking the same point repeatedly with his fists could provide the results he wanted when taking down the Scyther. However, this time, the Pokemon's trainer wouldn't sit idly by and let its Pokemon only swipe at David when there were plenty of moves it could use to get rid of David quickly.
"Scyther, use Agility and follow up with a double hit!" The trainer shouts out.
While giving direction to the Pokemon while fighting can lead to buffs or direction on how a Pokemon should attack, it also tells the opponent what is coming next, and in doing so, they can plan on how to counter or avoid the moves about to be used.
The Scyther suddenly becomes a blur, with David finally losing sight of the Pokemon as it disappears from view.
"Scy!"
A triumphant cry calls out from behind David as his body begins to register a funny tingling feeling from his chest and lower back.
Looking down, David sees two visible holes in his body, one from his lower back and another from his chest, where the Scyther presumably stabbed him.
Unknowing the damage, David takes his hands and brushes where the wounds are, but the numbness of his body prevents him from feeling the undoubtedly sharp pain from his body. Looking behind him and seeing the triumphant Pokemon behind him with its blade-like hands dripping with his blood caused David to feel a rising emotion in him.
The one emotion he didn't want to utilize, but considering these people were aiming for his life, he might as well provide the same level of conviction as them.
The five trainers were all smirking, seeing David stare dumbly at the Scyther that had stabbed David, and they all considered the fight done, considering that there was no way any sane person would continue to fight against a Pokemon that could kill him quickly.
"I told you four that we were only going to rough him up a bit if he lost, but I guess this works; now you four can have whatever is valuable in the home, but first take him down for sure," Mars said as she walked over to the door frame of the home to watch the one-sided beat down, David was going to receive.
Mars didn't want to kill David; she may consider herself evil, but she wasn't going to take another person's life. Those four, however, might, considering the background they had as ex-convicts who wanted a job, they might go overboard, but if needed, then she will step in.
However, a sickening snap is heard, and something falls to the ground, causing Mars to look back at David.
Only to see the body of the Scyther lying on the ground with its head at a weird angle, with a look of confusion plastered on its face as it didn't understand what had happened to it before whatever light was in its eyes had died as it stared off into the distance.
