In the Rain

Highschool Au//Xiao and Aether have been dating for a few months and they decided to have their first date stargazing.

Third Person POV

It was currently 9 o'clock and Xiao was packing everything inside of the truck. "We got everything?" Asked Aether. Xiao nodded. Aether grabbed the house key, closed and locked the door. "So where is this special place we are going to go star gazing?' Aether asked, climbing into the passenger's seat. Xiao sat in the drivers seat and turned the car on. "It's near the outskirt of town. About a thirty minute drive. My fathers use to take me and my sisters there as kids." "Oh? I'm even more excited to go! I love the places your fathers recommend!" Aether said grinning. It was true though. Xiao's fathers, Zhongli and Childe, had amazing taste when it came to anything.

"Do you want to connect your phone to the speaker?" Xiao asked. "Yes! What should I play?" Aether asked, connecting his phone. "Runaway. Calming song." Xiao simply said. Aether agreed. Aether went on his playlist and found the song. He pressed played and turned the speaker up. The two drove in comfortable silence listening to the song.

"You know Xiao, I wouldn't mind dancing in the rain with you. I love the rain." Xiao just let out a small laugh. "I know you love the rain. However you would get sick. I rather have a healthy Aether, not a sick one."

"This lyric reminds me of Albedo. Don't you agree Love?" Xiao asked his partner. "It does! Albedo is always painting, he's so talented!" "I agree."

"Home is where we are together. That's what Lumine always tells me. I wonder how she is...I never see her no more." Aether started to pout. He hasn't seen is sister in months, she's been busy with her fashion company. And in all honesty. Aether misses her dearly. Xiao rubbed Aether's left thigh gently. "Don't worry. We will go see her soon. I promise." Aether just smiled.

As the song ended, the playlist continued to play song after song. The two would sing along to some of the songs. Aether knew more of the lyrics did Xiao did. They also made small talk about school assignments and which teacher pisses them off.

"No I'm being serious he's targeting me! Just because I don't like his lectures he is targeting me and my grades!" Aether said. "Are you sure? Or do you just not pay attention?" Aether sighed. "I do I swear! But Mr. Venti's class makes no sense! Then again history doesn't make sense." Xiao just laughed. "Okay okay. So what I'm getting here, is that you suck at history?" "NO!" Xiao just laughed even more, and Aether just pouted and looked away.

"Well love to make you feel better here we are." Xiao put the car in park. Aether got out of the car and looked around. It was a flower field, with fireflies lighting the area. Scattered trees and bushes everywhere. "It looks beautiful Xiao." Aether was in awe. Xiao walked behind him and back hugged him. "Glad you like it. Let set the truck up."

The two soon got to work. The opened up the tailgate of their truck and set out a blanket. They then put a small cooler beside them, where there were some drinks and cold snacks. Lastly, they set up a pillow big enough for the two of them.

"The stars are so beautiful Xiao! Look how they sparkle and shine!" Aether said pointing up toward the sky. Xiao nodded. The stars twinkled up in the night sky. Millions upon millions of stars were out tonight. "Look there's little dipper!" Aether pointed to his left. "I see. Oh there's the big dipper." They spent almost an hour just gazing upon the stars, looking for constellations.

"Hey Aether." "Hm?" Aether turned to look at Xiao, and before he could register anything else, he felt Xiao's lips on his. Aether slowly closed his eyes and kissed back. The kiss was gentle and slow. They soon broke apart and smiled at each other. "Wow, you taking the lead? I'm impressed." Aether said with a small laugh. Xiao nodded his head. "Why of course. I took us here, I lead." Aether nodded. "Alright Xiao." They two both leaned in and reconnected their lips. The kiss was rough yet filed with love. Xiao slowly pushed Aether down while he got on top of him. Aether wrapped his arms around Xiao's neck, bringing him deeper. Xiao slipped his tongue into the blonde's mouth. They would break apart for air and reconnect and start the whole process again and again. Who knows how long they were kissing. Hours? Minutes? Seconds? No one knew. But slowly light rain started to fall.

"Huh? Rain?' Aether asked as he broke from the kiss. "The forecast didn't say anything about a light rain shower." Xiao said looking around them. The stars were gone, and all there was, was rain and clouds. No thunder. No lighting. Just darkness, rain, and the two of them. "Xiao, call me crazy but..." Aether touched Xiao's cheek with his right hand and cupped his face. "Let's make love right here."

Xiao was taken back. "A-Are you sure? Won't you get sick?" Xiao asked. Aether shook his head, but Xiao couldn't see. "I won't. Now please Xiao?"
