High School AU// Someone hit Xiao, and Aether isn't letting this person go without him taking a swing at them.

Trigger warnings: death threats, cursing

Xiao POV

God, I hate people sometimes. I sigh as I walk up the stairs to Aether's house. I'm a little late because some teenage dumb fuck decided he wanted to have a little fight. I typically would have said no, but he was talking shit about Aether. I wasn't letting him off the hook. But what happened? I won yes, but we both got pretty beaten up. He was a tough guy for sure, but I always win. And I will never back down from a fight that involves someone talking shit about my boyfriend.

I knock on the door and hear foot steps approaching. The door opens ad I see a smiling Aether. "Hello Xiao how are- WHAT HAPPENED!?" He asks. He quickly pulls me inside and picks me up. He sets me on the kitchen island as he looked for a first aid kit. He found it a few seconds later and walked over to me. "What happened Xiao? Are you okay?" I nod. "Just fell down the stairs." I don't want to worry Aether. "A-Are you sure?" I smile through the throbbing pain. "Yes love. Come now, let's watch a movie after you finish making me feel all better with some kisses and cuddles?" Aether's love language is physical touch and affection. His face is still covered in concern, but he nods. "Okay darling.." Aether picked my up from the kitchen island and set me on the couch. "Let me make some popcorn."

As Aether made some popcorn, I check my phone. There was a message from my father. 'I heard about what happened between you and that boy. Your sister told me. I hope you're alright and I'll talk with your other father about what we should do about it. Have fun at Aether's, I love you.' I smile to myself.

As the weekend passed it was now time for school. I had a lot of fun this weekend since I was with Aether. It was currently 4th period and someone busted into the room. "What's going on?!" The teacher asked. It was Bennett. "X-Xiao it's Aether!" I stood up from my seat and so did our friends who were in the class. "What happened to him?!" I asked. "Bennett?" Amber and Diluc asked this time. "H-He's in a fight! Come on!" He ran back outside the room. Me and the others quickly followed and so did the teacher and some of our classmates. We ran down the hallway and took a right and ahead of us we saw a crowd of people. "Beat his ass!" "What's going on Kaeya!?" Diluc asked. "Aether is beating the shit out of this guy!" "Beat him up! Go Aether!" "Venti NO! We do not encourage this behavior!" Diluc said to Ventil.

Wait.

FIGHTING?!

I push through the crowd and see Aether sitting on the same guy who fought with me the other day. He was punching the living shit out of him. "Don't you ever lay a hand on him again! You hear!?" Aether threw one more punch until I ran over to pull him off. "Aether! No! Off!" It was no use. He was blinded by rage. He must've figured out this guy was the one who hit me. "C'mon Aether off! Come on!" It was his twin, Lumine. Me and Lumine used our strength and pulled him off the other guy. "Let me go! He hurt you Xiao! Let me beat his ass!" I backed hugged Aether and held him tight. "Love stop it! You're gonna get in trouble!" I said. I tried calming him down while Lumine pulled the other guy away from us. "Move your ass!" She yelled. The guy did and was a few feet away from us.

The principle and some teachers came to break the crowd apart and lead us to the nurses office. I helped Aether up and held his hand. "Are you okay Aether?" I asked. He nodded. "Now I am after showing that guy a lesson. Why didn't you tell me?" I looked at his eyes. They were filled with sadness. "I didn't want to worry you." I said. It was true. I'm not good at showing emotions or explaining them to others. But I didn't want him to worry about me. I can handle myself.

"Oh Xiao. I'll always worry about you. Cause I love you." I looked up and was met with his lips on mine. "I would fight anyone for you Xiao." My face went red.

The End <3
