I turned around to see the moody guy I met outside of Vermilion City. His colorless eyes were flaring with anger through his jet-black locks. His fists were clenched tightly under his black leather gloves.

"You again," he growled sinisterly, "What are you doing here? You are not welcome here!"

"Hold on a second!" Robin stepped in, "Who are you to tell us we can't be here? This is a public area, and we have just as much a right to be here as you do!"

Our dark-souled peer shot his glare at Robin, who was somewhat shaken by the sinister look in his eyes as he said, "That's where you're wrong. There are extenuating circumstances at the moment, and I alone will determine who is allowed in the tower and who is not."

Robin began to glare back at our apparent adversary, clenching his fists, "It's you, isn't it? You're the evil soul that's stirring up the spirits in the tower."

"Everything possible," was the response, along with an evil chuckle, "I sense something in both of you. A strong eminence of love and compassion for all living creatures. You sicken me. It's a cruel world out there, and you will gain nothing from helping others out of the goodness of your heart other than abuse and emotional torture. There must be ambition in everything you do. There must always be a hunger to surpass others. That is how I have gained my strength as a trainer and as a leader."

"Is that a fact?" I finally spoke up, pulling out a Pokéball, "Then you won't mind proving in a battle."

"Is that a challenge?" he growled confidently.

"You bet it is."

My opponent's eyes blazed ferociously under his locks. He drew a Pokéball and slammed it on the ground. A Venomoth emerged.

I smirked. I had not known what kind of Pokémon he would use, and the sight of him releasing a Bug-type made me feel good about the selection of my opening Pokémon.

"Go, Charmeleon!" I released my Flame Pokémon, and it snickered cockily as it looked upon its opponent.

"Venomoth," the growl in my foe's voice trembled with anger, "Toxic."

Venomoth attempted to attack, but not before Charmeleon countered with an Ember attack on my command. Venomoth attempted once more to hit Charmeleon, but its master stopped it.

"Don't bother with it," he growled, "Go after the boy."

Venomoth flew right past Charmeleon and came charging towards me. My heart immediately started pounding nearly fifty miles a minute as Venomoth got closer at closer. I tried to run, but I was completely petrified. Time slowed down in my mind, making it all the more terrifying. Finally, after what seemed like minutes, the Poison Moth Pokémon was millimeters away from my face, and it fell to the ground. I looked closely at it and realized that Charmeleon had attacked it from behind. I smiled at my loyal partner and praised him. Then, suddenly, I got a little dizzy.

The room started spinning and streching. It was as if space was being distorted. I felt everything get farther and farther away. Everything started hurting and I fell to my knees. In the distance, I saw a blur of black and red, and I heard a deep, growling voice saying, "My name is Celso Troark, and I will make sure that neither of you interfere with my business ever again."
