Gerard's POV

I woke up around 9 am. It was Saturday, the day Frank would be coming over, and spending the night until Monday evening. I yawned and stretched, and picked myself out of my comfortable bed. I'd rather stay in it than deal with all the shit my father puts me through. Oh, right. Speaking of him, I wonder if he's passed out in front of my door or if he carried himself to another room.

Or hey, maybe he fell down the stairs and has a concussion.

I pulled open my door quietly, hoping not to make any sounds in case he was still sleeping. Surprisingly, he was no longer in front of my bed. I creeped down the stairs, and looked at the couch, and there I saw him sleeping, mouth wide open, with drool oozing out of it.

I think enough time has passed for him to be out of his drunken state, but he's definitely going to have a serious hangover. I really hope he leaves tonight just like he said, or I swear to God, I will kick him out of the house.

I'm quite stronger than he is, so it wouldn't be hard to kick him out. Maybe I'll do that regardless so I don't have to deal with him anymore.

Frank's POV

I woke up a little later than I should have, but it's ok. I have to get ready soon so I can make my way to Gerard's house.

As I was getting dressed, I heard my phone ring. I picked it up and looked at the caller ID, of which read 'Gerard'.

"Hello?"

"Hey, sorry, I just wanted to make sure you were up and getting ready to come over."

"Why, you worried about me?"

"Maybe."

"Whatever. Yes, I'm getting ready and I'll be there in a few."

"A few minutes? A few hours?"

"Always so specific, are you Gerard? But, it will be around noon or 1 pm that I get there."

"Alright, gives me a chance to clean up. See ya soon."

He hung up so I put my phone down on my dresser to continue charging and went down the stairs to see if my mom was still here or not. On Saturdays, she usually hangs around a bit longer than weekdays. I don't mind, as she's always nice when she's sober.

"Hey, sweets. I made breakfast but you don't have to eat if you don't want to."

"Thanks, mom, but I woke up with an upset stomach so I think I'll just have some water."

"Oh, alright. Well, hopefully you feel better. Got any plans for today?"

"Yes, actually. I'm spending the three-day weekend at Gerard's...if that's ok?"

She sighed.

"Yes, it's fine, but please be safe. Don't let him trick you into anything you don't want to do."

"Jesus, mom. I'm a smart kid, I'll be fine. And he doesn't even like me like that, so chill out."

"Whatever. Just know that I warned you."

"Mhm, yea. Love you too, mom."

"Love you, sweets." She stood up from her chair at the table and gathered her things. It's a little early for her to be leaving, but I won't question it. Maybe she's seeing someone and testing it out before she introduces me. I don't know, but she seems happy, which is all I care about at the moment.

I got my water out of the fridge, sat down at the table, and watched a YouTube video before I got dressed.

I was in my room, packing everything I would need to spend the weekend. At the moment, I was in a black sweatshirt and black jogger pants. I like to be comfy while still hiding underneath my clothing, y'know?

I'm on my way.

Alright, see you soon. You sure you don't need me to come pick you up?

Yes, I'm sure. I need to walk more often than I do.

Mk, whatever you say

I headed out the door, making sure I had everything I needed and then I locked it. It would take me a while to get there, seeing as in a car it's already a semi-long drive, so this would take me at least an hour. I didn't mind, it gave me more time to take in what was happening.

And what was happening was Gerard.

I felt like the friendship was beginning to grow. Like he had feelings for me, which was great and everything, but I don't know if I'm ready to show him yet. I...I feel like he's going to reject me as soon as he sees how ugly and broken I really am.

I had finally walked the full length to his house, and I was now standing outside the door, preparing to knock.

Before I even raised up my arm to do so, the door swung open wide. It showed a smiling yet sweaty Gerard standing on his welcome mat.

"Hey."

"Hey."
