"I told you to finish your studies with your mom!"

"And I don't want to!"

Ei scoffed, baffled by her son's attitude. "When did this kid learn to talk back?" she asked Sara. "What exactly do you want, Kunikuzushi Scaramouche?"

"I believe it's their rebellious phase," Sara murmured to her archon.

"Rebellious phase?" Ei said. "You, my boy, when did you start becoming a rebel?! Did I taught you that?" she said angrily.

Scaramouche, who was now eight years old, was talking back to her mother.

"You need to give me back my freedom and stop forcing me to learn meaningless stuff!"

"Meaningless stuff?! It's for your own good! You need to know what's going on in the world and learn the basics!"

Scaramouche kept silent; it was her mother who was yelling, and he couldn't fight back when his mom was clearly furious with him.

"Take this boy away from me and bring him to Miko," Ei sighed as she sat back down on her seat and resumed her paperwork.

"I'm not going back there! I prefer wielding my sword, or whatever weapon you teach me!"

"And I will, but not right now; you're still young," Ei replied. "Whatever I say, Kunikuzushi, you will obey."

"..."

"Is that clear?" Ei said in a deep voice that was not Scaramouche's favorite tone; in fact, he was terrified of Ei's voice.

"Y-yes, Mother,"

"Good, now take him to Miko," Ei murmured as she ordered Sara to take her son to Miko. Scaramouche did not fight back, instead just following the General to Miko's chambers.

"Little one, I warned you not to fight back against your mother," Miko sighed as she drew Scaramouche into a hug, and Sara left them alone and shut the doors.

"But, Mom, I don't want to study," he explained. "I'd rather learn how to fight," he says.

"Knowledge is important, too, little one, not just muscles and combat," Miko chuckled. "You can destroy a lot of people with wise words, which may stomp them and traumatize them for the rest of their life,"

Scaramouche stared at Miko, not believing a word she said.

"You still don't believe me?" Miko said, laughing. "I always beat your mother with words; it's her weakness," she said with a smile. Scaramouche then burst out laughing.

"Really?"

"Yes, really,"

Scaramouche smiled and snuggled closer to her mother, while Miko lavished her kid with sweets and began to teach him about the world.

"That kid," Ei hissed. "He dares to talk back to me?!" she said as she slammed the table and drank her tea. "I need to teach him a lesson,"

"Oh dear, don't worry, I already handled with him far better than you," Miko snorted. "I don't want my son to have a traumatic childhood as a result of your teachings,"

"Are you insulting me right now?"

"How could I?" Miko said, setting down her tea. "Isn't it a crime to insult the archon?"

"If it's a crime, you should be in jail right now," Ei sneered.

"And you won't let that happen, will you, my dear Archon?" Miko said sexily.

"Oh archons, not now, Miko," Ei groaned.

"Why? I'm not even doing anything?" Miko giggled as she drank her tea. "You're imagining things, my love; it's best that you rest after a difficult day and a fight with your son," she laughed, leaving Ei in her room and going to her son's room to finish their lesson.

"That cheeky woman," Ei hissed.
