"You first met him when you were a baby," Miko explained. "And you'll see him again today; he's three years older than you, and you're eight right now, so he's eleven," she chuckled.

"Even if I met him when I was a baby, I still don't want someone studying with us," Scaramouche grumbled to her mother.

"You'll love him, little one," Miko said with a smile. "Perhaps you won't at first, but with time, you will,"

"You plotted something, didn't you?" sneered Scaramouche. "I know you, Mom,"

"Oh dear, how could you think that to your mother?" Miko said, trying to look hurt and shocked. "I just want my son to have friends," she chuckled.

"Are we acting innocent?" sighed Scaramouche. "Whatever you planned, Mom, I'm not going to let it happen,"

Miko only smiled at her before pouring them tea and continuing with their lessons.

"Long time no see, Your Excellency!" yelled Beidou as she leaped off the ship. "I brought my son here just like we planned, and to my surprise, he loves adventure as well," she said with a broad smile.

"As lively as ever, Captain Beidou," Ei said with a smile. "It's nice that he loves something, unlike my son, who prefers to do nothing," she sighed.

"Oh boy! Kazuha was like that too back then, but he eventually found something he loves, and that is adventuring with me," she explained. "Just give your kid some time, and I'm sure he'll discover something he loves doing,"

"H-hello, Your Excellency," Kazuha murmured shyly, bowing to Ei.

"Just call me your auntie or whatever, don't bother with the formalities," Ei laughed with Beidou. "Well, let's go; I'm sure my wife is looking forward to seeing Kazuha."

---

"You've grown into a handsome lad!" Miko said as she approached Kazuha and hugged him. "Well, you're still... small, but that's alright; as you grow up, I'm sure you'll be taller than Beidou," she laughed as she returned to her seat.

"Don't tease the poor boy," Ei said, laughing. "Where is Kunikuzushi?" she said seriously.

"In his room," Miko said, smiling. "Get him out of there,"

Ei sighed and went to their son's room.

"I'm curious to see what Scaramouche looks like," Beidou said, laughing.

"Oh, trust me, he's handsome but nasty," Miko groaned before chuckling.

"Ow ow ow! Mom, I know how to walk!" Scaramouche hissed in pain as Ei dragged him by the ear into the room.

"I told you to stay with Miko, not in your own room," Ei snarled as she released grasp of Scaramouche's ear. "Do the greetings now," she sighed.

"H-hello, Captain Beidou, it's a pleasure to see you again," he said as he bowed and turned to greet Kazuha.

"I hope we get along," he said plainly, and Miko chuckled, but Ei sighed.

"Long time no see, my boy!" Beidou said, hugging Scara. "When you were a baby, you enjoyed hanging around with me," she said.

"My mom told me about it," Scaramouche smiled.

"You actually grew into a handsome lad, but Miko told me you were nasty," she giggled.

"W-well..."

"He's the worst of the worst," Ei snorted. "I'm sure you're parched, Captain; care to join me for a drink?" she offered.

"Of course!" she said, looking at Kazuha. "Behave, son," she urged as she walked away with the archon.

"Come sit," Miko said to Kazuha, who complied. "I heard you love going on adventures with the Captain?"

"Yes,"

"Perhaps you can teach my son to do something he enjoys instead of simply lounging around here," she quipped.

"Mom-"

"Oh, shush, you need to find something you love doing; we can't spoil you at this age," she says.

Kazuha then chuckled softly. "If he wants, I'll do it."

"That's great! My son really wants to."

"Mom!"

"What?" Miko inquired. "I'll tell Ei that you're not complying,"

Scaramouche sighed, looked at Kazuha, and sneered, which Kazuha finds amusing.

Miko smiled as she looked at them both. "I'll leave you two alone," she said. "I need to keep an eye on Ei and the Captain; I don't want them making a mess in broad daylight," she chuckled as she exited the room, leaving the two lads alone.

It was awkward and quiet. They were doing nothing but sitting.

"Well, other from...lounging around, what else do you find interesting?" Kazuha questioned softly.

"Nothing,"

"There has to be something or I won't be able to encourage you and your parents would be disappointed,"

"I like fighting like my mom," Scaramouche sighed. "I wanted to wield that powerful polearm of hers and turn it into the legendary katana in all of Teyvat,"

"That's it," he said. "I'm certain that your mom still doesn't let you to fight, but I can persuade her to teach you from a young age."

Scaramouche then widened his eyes and looked at Kazuha with excitement. "Really?"

"Yes, really," he said, smiling. "But it will happen if you behave and do not talk back to your mother," he chuckled.

Scaramouche blushed in humiliation. Perhaps word got around about him talking back to his mother.

A/N:

I'll finish this story in a few chapters and start a new one. The next one will be my final work before I stop writing. Things became difficult; school is hectic, and I had little time to write. And whenever I have spare time, I'm exhausted and can't think of anything to write on.
