Promise

"Grip your blade tightly," Ei instructed. "Remain calm and focused; don't lose sight of your target," she whispered, moving quickly and letting Scaramouche's eyes to follow her movements. He was struggling and losing his calm. He then attempted to hit Ei but was knocked down on the floor.

"Don't lose your patience, or you'll die," Ei advised Scara as she helped him stand. "You still have a lot to learn,"  

Scaramouche was clearly frustrated, if not jealous. He was jealous of Kazuha's swordsmanship; he was talented, swift, and able to read Ei's motions.

"If you can read the wind, it can help you," Kazuha said. 

"That obviously didn't help me," he snorted, and Kazuha chuckled. Scaramouche had been training for a week now, and nothing had changed. He was still sluggish, clumsy, and frequently knocked down on the floor.

"The training is done," Ei said. "We'll continue tomorrow," she added, caressing Scaramouche's hair. "Take your time training, my boy; I'll wait for you to become an excellent swordsman," she said as she left the room, smiling.

Scaramouche then sighed and laid down on the floor. "Training sucks, I didn't think it'd be this hard," he muttered as Kazuha sat alongside him.

"Training was never easy; you had to earn it through hard effort and dedication," stated Kazuha. "I've been training my whole life," he chuckled.

Scaramouche then closed his eyes and hummed. "I want to make my mother proud," he said. "My mother, Miko," he chuckled, "the look she'll make if I become a totally skilled swordsman, I'm sure she'll be happier than me."

"And you will make her happy,"

"I'm not sure about my other mom," Scara sighed. "I'm not sure whether I'll be able to make her proud, but I hope I can,"

"Don't lose hope, it takes time; come on, Kunikuzushi, we're still young, we all have the time in the world,"

"You're right," he murmured as he sat properly. "When I grow up, I'll be the finest swordsman in all of Inazuma, or perhaps a master of polearms like my mother," he laughed.

"And I'll help you achieve that dream," Kazuha said with a smile. "Pinky promise,"
