When they opened their eyes again they were in front of a brown and brick shop, surrounded by trees. There was a sign but it was rundown and the letters were falling off, "Lights and Bolts" read the sign. "Amy!" Celeste yelled. Amy and Celeste had been friends for a while, specifically nine years. They had been friends since they were thirteen. "Is that you, Celeste?!" Amy came running out with a smile, but as soon as she saw what was going on the smile dropped from her face. "What happened!" The young woman gasped. "Can I tell you after? Just help them." Celeste said worriedly to their friend. "Yeah, yeah. But the only other person here who can help this woman is-" Before Amy could finish Celeste quickly cut her off. "I don't care who it is, as long as they can help." Celeste waved off, putting Malina on a table off to the side of the room.
"If you say so. Jenny!" Amy called. Celeste froze at the sudden mention of the name. Is she on about Jenny Jenny or a different Jenny? She thought. A pale woman with long jet black hair entered the room. Celeste turned away from an unconscious Malina and looked at the woman. She took a huge gulp. "Celeste? W-what are you doing here?" The woman stuttered. "My girlfriend. S-she needs assistance." Celeste's spoke hesitantly. "Girlfriend? What happened to her?" The woman questions, moving beside Celeste to look at Malina. "They were stabbed. Can you help them or not?" Celeste straightened their shoulders. No big deal. Not like my ex-girlfriend is working at me and my best friend's shop. Sooo awesome. Celeste thought sarcastically. "Yeah, I can." The woman, now known as Jenny, answered, removing the jacket from around Malina's waist.
"Can I talk to you Amy?" Celeste asked uncomfortably, tugging at Amy's long sleeved shirt. "Sure." Amy gulped as Celeste dragged her to the other side of the room. "May I ask why my abusive ex is working at our shop?" Celeste asked as soon as they left the side of Jenny. "Well, she asked to work here a few months after she got sober. She needed some money, badly." Amy fidgeted with her fingers. "So you just let her in? After everything I told you she did to me!" Celeste slapped Amy's fidgeting hands. "Well, not instantly. I thought about it." Amy spoke again before Celeste could say anything. "But! She really did change! She's sober now, and she's been wanting to see you." "I don't care if she changed. She physically and mentally hurt me. You're supposed to be my best friend and you hired my ex?" Celeste scoffed. "I don't care if she needs money, she's a bad person." Celeste walked away from Amy, not waiting for her to answer.
"The cut wasn't too big, she'll be okay. Just make sure she takes care of it." Jenny said. "Okay. Thank you." Celeste nodded. "Hey..uh. Can we talk, Celeste?" Jenny hesitantly asked. Celeste side-eyed the jet black haired woman standing next to them. "Why? There's n-nothing we have to talk about." They stuttered, slowly finding the right words to say. "I think we do." Jenny turned to the side, resting her arm on the table Malina was currently laying on. "Fine." Celeste huffed. There's two knives on the table behind you..please, please, don't notice them. Celeste thought.
"I wanted to apologize for what I did to you. I know I wasn't the best girlfriend." Jenny sighed. "Really? I had no idea." Celeste sarcastically said. "Still have that sarcasm." Jenny smirked. "I hurt you really badly, I wasn't in my right mind. Since you left, I got my life back together, got a job here and as a waiter, you know I'm sober now. And I've been wanting to reconnect with you." She reached her hand out to hold Celeste's. "Don't." Celeste jerked to the side. "Don't touch me." She finished. Jenny put her arm down to her side. "Sorry. I'm so sorry for what I did to you, Celeste." "You can't even say what you did. And then you have the nerve to ask to reconnect with me." Celeste's voice cracked.
Jenny stood in front of Celeste at a loss of words. She knew they were right. "I know I slapped you, I cut you, and probably did worse, I can't remember since I was drunk. But I promise, I've changed and I want you to give me another chance. I-I love you." Jenny spoke. Celeste's eyes went wide from shock. "You love me?" Celeste took a step closer. "I always have." Jenny placed her hands on Celeste's waist. Celeste threw a hand across Jenny's face, slapping her. "Get your fucking hands off me." Celeste spoke, throwing Jenny's hands off of their waist. "I don't love you. And I never will. You see this woman right?" She pointed to Malina, "This person right here? This is who I love. And don't you ever forget it." Celeste spoke before grabbing onto Malina's arm and closing their eyes. Home.
