"Can we order takeout?" Celeste lay atop of the hero on the couch as they watched a random reality show they had found.
"Depends on what you want." Malina answered, intensely staring at the television.
"I want chips and a burrito bowl." Celeste responded.
"Like as in chip chips? Or french fries?" The hero america-fied the witch's sentence to understand it.
"French fries. I really want some french fries." The witch mocked Malina in an American accent.
Malina rolled her eyes, "Alright, get up. My phone's on the counter."
"Here, use mine." Celeste reached onto the floor and handed her phone to the hero. She was logged into DoorDash anyway so it saved the trouble of having Malina log in. The hero noticed a message notification at the top. She ignored it, for the most part. Okay, listen, Malina was never the person to snoop on their lover's phone. Only with permission, would she do it on occasion. It wasn't right. No matter how bad she wanted to see who was messaging Celeste. The hero ordered the food and placed the phone back onto the floor.
"Everything all good? It usually doesn't take that long to order." Celeste asked.
"Oh yeah. I didn't know what I wanted." Malina scratched the back of her neck.
Celeste groaned as her neck started burning. She slowly sat up and got off of the couch and walked into the bathroom. The hero followed after her. Celeste was disinfecting the vampire bite again.
"Maybe all this disinfecting is making the bite worse, Celeste. Just change the bandage." Malina placed her hand firmly onto Celeste's arm, stopping the witch from placing the cotton ball on the bite. She lowered the witch's arm down and placed the cotton ball on the counter before grabbing a new bandage and placing it gently onto the vampire bit on Celeste's neck.
"You think you need more of Marvel's blood?" Malina asked.
"No, no, no. Last thing I want is to be dieting off vampire blood." Celeste responded, scoffing at the thought.
"You may have to. If that will help you, you need to do it." Hero lectured.
"Yeah, yeah." The witch dragged Malina back into the living room to lay back down on the couch. She was like a lazy– no, a very lazy– teenager. She is going through a vampire bite crisis and the Sara crisis, which by the way was Malina's fault. I mean, not the vampire bite. You know this already, why am I explaining?
"You need to get out of the apartment. You've been here since you got bitten. Maybe some sunlight will help." Malina complained about Celeste's habits.
"Malina–" Celeste sighed.
"No. You have been invalidating me and my opinions for days now. If what you were doing was helping, wouldn't you already feel better?" Malina cut off, "You need to leave this fucking apartment and see the outside world. You haven't worked or did anything except slack off on the couch."
Celeste yawned, "Well, you wouldn't understand, would you? You haven't been bit by a vampire before. All I want to do is slack off."
"The longer you slack off, the longer I'm going to distance myself from you. Get your shit together and then we'll talk." Malina scoffed, grabbed her keys and left the apartment. Celeste collapsed onto the couch and ran her fingers between her hair. Awesome. Amazing. Brillant. The witch thought sarcastically.
She checked the messages on her phone. Two new messages from Irma. Celeste clicked on the contact name.
What is it? Are you in any type of danger? The first message read.
