"Seriously? Again?!" Celeste crossed her arms across her chest. This was the third time this week Marvel made her and Hero fight. "I swear your doing this to torture me. I don't know how many times I have to tell you, I no longer have feelings for them!" Celeste huffed. Marvel smiled at the frustrated witch pacing back and forth in front of his desk. "I just don't know that little witch. Tea?" The supervillain gestured for Celeste to sit down and slid a cup of tea in front of the chair. "Why can't you believe me? I've moved on. She definitely has, have you seen the news?" Celeste sat in the chair, angrily sipping the hot tea. "Careful now. Let's not waste our little pity on her." Marvel waved off.
"Why wouldn't we? You of all people should understand. Especially with that little thing you've got going on with the detective." The witch set the cup of tea back onto the coaster. Marvel's eyes flared up and he cracked a small smile. Regaining his composure he wiped his face of the smile. "I thought I told you not to mention that again." He cleared his throat. "Kind of hard when I can hear you two every week." Celeste smirked, "You've got the hots for the detective, don't you? It's not just a little fling here and there is it?" She leaned in, putting her elbows on the desk.
"I suggest you leave this alone while you still can, little witch." Marvel flashed his fangs. Celeste glanced to the floor, her smirk still plastered on. Nephele pounced onto the desk, hissing at Marvel. She got bigger.
"Don't let her cut you there, Marv. It wouldn't be very cute on that face of yours." Celeste stroked Nephele's back and along her tail. "Get that thing off my desk." Marvel hissed back. Nephele jumped onto Celeste's shoulder before disappearing into the crook of her back. "Devilish thing." Marvel mumbled underneath his breath. "We're all devilish things, dear boss. Are we not?" The witch drank some more from her tea.
Marvel grabbed the cup from Celeste's hands and pointed towards the door. "Out." He stated. The witch scooted the chair back and got up from her seat. "Send the detective my regards, Marv!~" Celeste wiggled her fingers goodbye. Dominique stood outside the door of Marvel's office, waiting for Celeste. The witch simply gestured to the sidekick to follow behind her without a word spoken.
It was a silent walk down the long hallways. Well, that was until Dominique cleared his throat. "Dominique." Celeste spoke, slightly turning her head to look behind herself. Dominique stepped to the side of her, "How's your wife?" She asked. "She's still healing. Same as yesterday. And the day before that when you asked." Dominique answered plainly. Celeste stopped walking and turned to Dominique. "Bring this letter to Hero. And no, it's not a love letter." The witch handed their sidekick a sealed envelope.
"Anything else?" Dominique shoved the letter into his shoulder bag. "Take Nephele with you. Once you deliver the letter, drop her where Hero is, and walk away." Celeste held out her arm where Nephele appeared again and walked down onto Dominique's shoulder, into his bag. "Do you understand me?" Celeste asked. "Yes." Dominique scurried off. Do good, Neppy. Make mother proud. The witch watched Dominique disappear around the corner.

Dominique knocked on the dark green door, hoping it was the right address this time. Laughter came from behind the door. The green door swung open, revealing Malina and a man behind her. "Dominique. What a surprise." Malina's smile dropped. "I was told to deliver this to you. B-By Celeste." Dominique held out the sealed letter for the Hero to take. "She's not taking any letter from her." The man behind Malina spoke up. "It's just hero duty assigned to Malina, is all." The sidekick gulped.
"It's alright." Malina said quietly to the man before grabbing the envelope. Dominique held his arm out and Nephele jumped off and into the room behind Malina. "Uh? Anything else?" Malina looked at Dominique's arm. They don't see her? The sidekick thought to himself. "U-Um, no! Have a good day." He rushed off the steps. "Yeah..you too buddy!" The man yelled after him before shutting the door.
"Well that was weird." The man sighed. "Yeah." Malina said under her breath, sitting down on the tan couch facing the fireplace in the apartment. "Let's see what's in it!" The man reached to grab the letter and Malina moved it from his reach. "It's addressed to me. And like Dominique said, it's Hero duty. Nothing more to it." Malina spoke. The man put his hands in the air. "Phew! Alright man." He said. "William, you know I didn't mean it like that." Malina grabbed the man known as William wrist. "Nah, you're good. I'm going to go shower, mkay?" William smiled before placing a kiss that was not returned onto Malina's lips.
Malina forced a small smile before waiting for Willaim to walk into the bedroom. The hero tore open the letter. "Third fight this week, scheduled by the infamous Marvel. Same place I almost slit open your throat. Just for funsies. Sincerely, Celeste. P.S. Go fuck yourself 🖕" Read the note. "Real mature, Celeste." Malina ripped the letter up and threw it in the trash. Don't I just love being the ex of a villain. Malina thought to herself.
"I have a feeling you mean that sarcastically." Nephele purred. Malina jumped at the sudden voice, looking up at the black cat sitting on her fireplace. "W-What the hell? Where did you come from!?" Malina stood up from the couch, trying to keep her voice down. "Read the collar? Use your small brain cells." Neppy pointed at her collar with her paw.
Malina stepped closer to the talking black cat. "Nephele (Neppy) Bolt" The collar read. "Of course you're Celeste's cat. What does she want from me?" Hero rolled her eyes. "Nothing. Why would she want anything from a lying cheater?" Nephele jumped down off of the fireplace. "Who's the hunk?" Nephele asked. "Nobody. Are you spying on me?" Malina watched as the cat pranced around the small main room.
"A nobody is someone who doesn't matter and you dont care for, but Mr. William here, is your new fiance is he not?" The cat jumped onto the dining table. "How do you know that?" Malina questioned. "It's all over the news, hon. Crime-stopper and Son of a rich family who was cut off, ENGAGED?!?" Nephele exaggerated the news headlines. "He's a nobody. I don't truly love him." The hero pleaded. "Wrong! You wouldn't marry someone you don't love~" Neppy purred.
"Trust and believe me when I say I did not set this up. It was Superhero. I love Celeste!" Malina said. "Wrong again! If you truly loved her you would be fighting for her. You wouldn't have gotten engaged to a "nobody"." Nephele's sassy voice stung Malina. "I-" Malina stumbled over their words. "Guilty your honor~" Neppy licked her paw. The shower stopped. "Looks like I have to run. You have fun with your nobody!" The black cat hopped out the open window. "You alright in here? Could have sworn I heard a voice." William stuck his head out from the bathroom. Malina nodded. "I'm fine." She lied.
