"Celeste," Malina aggressively shook Celeste's shoulder, "Get up, get changed." She told Celeste. "Mmm... Why?" Celeste flipped onto their back and mumbled, starting to wipe their eyes open. The hero snatched the blankets off of their lover. "We're going to go speak to that Dominique guy? Unless you don't want to come." Malina crossed their arms. Celeste sat up and squinted at the frustrated hero standing before them. "You look like a detective." She laughed. Malina wore a plain white t-shirt, covered with a dark gray jacket, matched with dark gray pants. To top it all off, their hair was pinned into a low bun. "Really? Are you serious?" Malina huffed and looked down at their outfit. "I'm being so serious right now." Celeste yawned.

"You are extremely annoying. Get changed or I'm leaving without you." Malina marched off. Celeste sniffed as she got out of bed and put the covers back onto it. The witch threw on something that looked close to what Malina had on but, less detective-ish. She put on a simple white long-sleeve shirt and dark purple skirt. Celeste walked into the small living room where Malina sat on the couch. "Now we both look like we're about to present a non-negotiable deal with a group of salespeople." Celeste exhaled, pulling down the purple skirt. "Do you wake up and think violence?" Malina stood up and grabbed the now organized stack of paper from the counter. "I mean, considering I'm the villain, I guess so." Celeste spoke in a questioning voice.

Malina mean mugged the witch before walking past them, grabbing the car keys. "Let's go." She said before walking out the door. God help me. Celeste thought to themself before following behind Malina.

Celeste grabbed onto Malina's wrist to slow their walking. "Someone's tense. Relax, you okay?" She asked, interlocking their fingers with Malina's. "I'm fine," Malina relaxed their shoulders, "Just want to get to the bottom of this." She smiled. Celeste nodded. "I can stay in the car if you want." The witch offered. "Thank you." Malina said, letting go of Celeste's hand to unlock the door. "I'm driving." Celeste grabbed the keys out of Malina's hands and unlocked the driver side door. Malina sat on the passenger seat, staring at Celeste as they adjusted the seat. "Why can't I drive?" She asked.

"Unless you know the address, I'm driving." Celeste's eyes sparked. Hero put on their seatbelt and crossed their arms. "Someone's uptight this morning." The witch put their arm on the back of the passenger seat, looking backwards as they back out of the parking lot, "Usually I'm the grumpy one in the morning. What's really going on with you?" She questions Malina. Malina slumped in their seat and stayed silent. Pulling out their phone, Celeste could see them messaging someone. What is up with them today? She thought. The witch shook the thought from their head as they pulled up to their past sidekick's house.

They parked three doors down from Dominique's home. Malina placed their phone into their blazer pocket. Neither of them spoke. Celeste scratched the back of their neck in awkwardness. The silence grew louder and then-

"Well," Malina sighed loudly, "I won't be long. Should only take thirty minutes. Hopefully." She spoke that last bit quietly. "Right, well don't let me hold you up. If you're not out in thirty, I'm coming in. Okay?" Celeste leaned in and quickly pecked Malina's lips. Malina nodded in understanding and exited the car.

(Not my best chapter, for sure a disappointment chapter 😔)
